Informative, definitely some things to try. I troll a lot for them just with tube jigs and a slow troll. The reservoirs around me that we fish might get some vegetation but I'm sure its speratic as the water level changes all the time. One of the ones we fish, they jack the water level up so much, I think it really hurt the fishing and spawn. I have not been hearing any real good reports this year at that one. In winter they drop the level to basically a river channel, and I feel they wait too long to let it fill in. They need to keep it at a better level, and it could be done if they would pay attention to the neighboring reservoirs on not dumping too much into the river causing a flood.

Chatterbait Flashback Mini, single hook spoons and spinners, Rebel Micro minnows and Road Runners. Some micro hard baits are quite costly to buy. However, using light line and costly lures is bound to end badly fishing cover. If you change out trebles to light wire inline hooks you lose fewer lures and still catch plenty of Crappies.

Great voice , trying to fine crappie in Lovesick Lake in Ontario Canada, used to be all cabbage and cottage tail weeds . Now we have invasive weed that mate over large flats, just search daily with no luck so far. Need to watch more of your videos. Thanks tons. Looking to buy a Humminbird Helix 7 Chris mega SI G3N. But is $ 1100 plus 13% taxes, also wish to purchase the i-Pilot kit for my Minn Kota. Power Drive V2 . Boat is a Lund WC- 16’ DXL, 30hp Yamaha 2 stroke engine.
@Wired2Fish
@Wired2Fish 4 жыл бұрын
Joe, thanks for taking the time to watch. Even those thick matted weeds have to terminate at some depth so you can fish them the same way. That outside weed line will still be a corridor for crappie. As for the Helix 7, If you are able to purchase one I would highly recommend it. Side imaging is a great tool for finding both crappie and those hard weed lines or transition zones. I'm not sure about the Canadian dollar amount but a Helix 7 with CHIRP, GPS and SI+ should only run you about $600-700 bucks US. wired2.fish/HumminbirdHELIX7

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzfaq.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Im going fishing in Sept. Any suggestions now that temp is dropping?
@Wired2Fish
@Wired2Fish 4 жыл бұрын
They’ll be on outer weedlines through September until turnover and then start mixing into the basins. Fall is an awesome time to catch them. Once weeds start to die they can be more concentrated on the last remaining weeds until they push out to the deep basins and inside turns.

@Wired2Fish 4 жыл бұрын
You'll be busy reaching in the minnow bucket, struggling to hook the minnow and end up casting it off while I pile in a few more on any of these baits. Like I say in the video thou, something to be said about a cork and minnow or plastic once you find the fish. For me, it's faster to use baits I can move quickly on a horizontal plane to find fish. Bobbers are fun but I also like feeling those bites. Thanks for the comment! Happy fishing!

Wow u want summer crappie use a slip float and a minnow find the deepest part of the water and maybe they will bite none of this is nothing but luck and talking about lures btw its crappie not crap e
@Wired2Fish
@Wired2Fish 4 жыл бұрын
Deepest part in this particular lake is around 60 feet.. Wont't be corkin over that mid-summer. Crappies love weeds and they run, and run, and run em in the summer. In small ponds, when temperatures start to get extreme on the warmer end, crappies most definitely vacate to the deepest water they can find. Looking for cooler, more oxygenated layers. Again, thats the case in small ponds or shallow lakes. Weeds provide cover, oxygen and shade so crappies feel right at home. It's not luck, you can find them if you know where to start and how to go about it. These are just a few lures I have found to be efficient for covering water quickly in and around vegetation.
