I made a trip out to Brooklyn NY to do some more saltwater fishing , it was a tough day and full of struggles but I managed to land some fish eventually
Equipment used
Rod/reel set up #1 - 7 foot St Croix Triumph medium power fast action
Reel - Van Staal VR 50
Line - 30 pound Power Pro braid
Leader - 12 pound Yozuri Fluorocarbon
Bait - Berkeley Gulp 3 inch swimming mullet
Hook - 2/0 Gamakatsu bait holder hook
Rod/reel set up # 2 - 7 foot Tsunami Carbon Shield II spinning (Medium fast) rated 1/8 - 3/4 oz (10-20lb line)
Reel - Daiwa BG 3000 (5.6:1 gear ratio) 6+1 ball bearings
Line - 30 pound Power Pro braid
Rig - Marathon sabiki rig size 6
Sinker - 2 ounce Pyramid sinker
Bait - Frozen salted clam

I grew up fishing the bicycle path in Brooklyn. Blue, Stripe Bass, Porgies, Snappers, fluke, good selection fish depending on the season. Skates were pretty common. One day I caught a huge Ray 30 in to 36 in wingspan. I could not get him over the fence, took the hook out and down he tumbled and swam away. Thanks for the memories. New friend like 62

Blood worms/sand worms were always the ticket in Bay Ridge by the Verrazano.
