Fall fishing is here! Switched off the flounder train now to a variety of different fish. Today we fished mud crabs on docks along with a few plastics for a variety of drum. Nothing huge but tons and tons of action!

That set up looks fantastic for tautog. I’ve been searching for braids that deal with structure better. I’ve got to take a shot down south for the winter when New York dies down. (It’s been kind of crappy this year anyways) Good stuff as always, Elias!!!

Right when you put that fist black drum on the yak it reminded me of tautog fishing, then you had mentioned it so I’m guessin that it’s pretty much the same, I’ve been doin pretty good this year with tautog in the Rhode Island area, hopefully I’ll be able to reel in a nice red or black drum whenever I decide to take the trip it’s definitely on that bucket list... 🤙🏼🤙🏼

The smaller ones aren’t bad at all. The larger ones can get wormy. I don’t keep them until winter time around here - usually don’t find worms and they are typically away from the dark mud bottoms that time of year

Any tips on keeping mud crabs alive, and how long you can expect to keep them alive. I'm in a little boat, and a lot of the places where mud crabs hang out aren't ideal for beaching the boat. Hoping to grab them the day before if they'd last.
@EliasVFishing
@EliasVFishing 3 жыл бұрын
Keep them in a cooler but make sure they aren't coming in contact with ice. Lots of newspapers is what I use to insulate them over the bag of ice. Close it and keep drain open. They'll live for two days like this.

On the Thumbnail i thought you were float fishing using crabs. So i watch the video and every time you catch a fish you edited out the orange attractor you were using. You also never showed how you hook up the Crab or show what part of the crab you hack off. Most people watch Fishing videos to get tips. How about go beyond explaining 40lb braid and leader.
