I agree 100% with you on fishing pressured spots when most people don't. That's when I catch 95% of my fish. Cold rainy week days.

Great tips -- all the urban ponds out here in LA are super pressured (as you can imagine with the number of people that live here) so I try to get out during those off peak times like you said. I've had limited luck so far getting bass, but it's more about just getting out there and fishing, so I'm good with struggling lol

Hey man, huge fan. I was wondering if you can help me out. I'm trying to upgrade my reel handle on my shimano cardiff 300A. I typically throw my huds, battle shads and baitsmiths with this reel. I want to upgrade my reel handles but I'm not sure what's the best out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best swimbait channel by far - I noticed double hooks on one of the Klashes, do you prefer those? Also I saw one of the baits had the weedguard - can you comment on it's effectiveness? thanks!

Kevin Atwell Thanks for the kind words man! The twin hooks are cool but personally I’m not a huge fan, they don’t get hung up as much but the hook up ratio for me is worse with them. The weed guard on the Klash is called a G-guard, it prevents the bait from snagging anything from trees and rocks and debris, heard it works actually really well!

Wire guard is definitely a game changer for me. I can throw the klash in to floating trash/weeds and the bait comes back with almost no trash attached or you can slide it in to lay down and doesn’t get hang up only thing that got it so far is fishing lines in the water. And that Twin hook system on the klash is actually two single hooks bundled together with a heat shrink tube and supposedly keep fish pinned by moving freely yet haven’t hooked a fish on it yet lol

Braid has no stretch so its easier to brake off big baits on the cast, plus fluoro is close to invisible underwater.

Trick to fishing urban pond: Report all poachers, Do not talk to anybody with a bucket, do not post your picture online, Learn to hold your bait so that anyone who is passing by can't see what it is, and do not tell your buddies anything, if they want to know, they have to be there personally, oh yeah, get a wheel chair, it will revolutionize your view on drop shotting.
