Hey Dan. I moved to Charleston 3 years ago and started my fishing adventure at the age of 65. Your videos have been so helpful in learning some of the basics of fishing here in the lowcountry. My mother lives in Richmond Hill, so maybe one day when I'm making a trip to visit, I can get you to teach me how to throw a cast net! I really appreciate your instruction on cooking the fish that you catch. It's a real blessing to be able to feed yourself from the ocean. I live in Charleston and my 1st Cousin married Bill Bailish, the gentleman that owned and operated The Olde Pink House in Savannah. They make a similar dish with apricot chutney that is out of this world delicious. Enjoyed the vid!

That was a great video Dan! Really enjoyed the cook portion! As for the Red Fish population, I have caught more Rat Reds this year than ever. Yesterday I caught 8 Reds (12 to 14) inch in 9 cast on artificial, with a total of over 30 in just a few hours! Also caught two over 20! So can’t wait for them to grow! 99% of all fish we catch are released👍 Enjoy cleaning that big boat! Miss the little one yet😬😂

Another great video Dan! One thing for beach/marsh fishing with soft sand. I made a few Wade Fishing rod holders for that from traditional 1.5" diameter thin-wall PVC tubing. After cutting a 45 in one end for the sand spoke with the chop saw you can drill a hole near the top and bottom and string a long loop of nylon cordage through the inside/outside via the holes. When hoofing it to a remote fishing spot, you can put them over your shoulder like an old school long bow. Doesn't require any hands to transport them when on foot and when you get to your spot you have a secure third hand and a camera mount point to boot.

Never seen a flounder done like that. Very cool.

I know it's not couth to ask fishing spots, but I am in the savannah area and fish Moon River a lot near Butterbean Beach. I have been binging your videos for the past couple weeks and really trying to catch those summertime reds like in this video... or really anything that bites. So far, I've only caught two barely legal flounder... I have been getting my butt handed to me almost every time I go out and I am almost at my wit's end and ready to sell all my gear lol 😊. Could I ask where about this was or if you know of similar areas around Butterbean perhaps, just to get me started and know what to look for? I am a freshwater bass guy, but I thought since I lived so close to moon river, I would try my hand at saltwater. I've gotten pretty good at getting live bait with my cast net like you say in this video, but I cannot seem to locate the fish... or get them to bite my presentation. I think it's because I am just in the wrong areas or perhaps wrong times/tides. Thank you and I really appreciate all the knowledge and tips of your videos. It's very cool and refreshing to see the local lowcountry I am in being represented in KZfaq videos like these.

Great cooking tips on flounder. How long was it in the oil?

I need a boat. Every spot I try to fish I get hung up on oyster shells from the shore. No luck.

Could you clean the flounder the same way and grill it? I like to camp at Little Tybee on a kayak. Is there any good spots over there for Redfish that are good eating and some Flounder?
