Catching keeper sized Mangrove Snapper while fishing with Mojarra as bait. To my surprise there were a lot of these small baitfish huddled up in some sea grass. It only took four throws with the castnet and I was loaded up with some of the best Mangrove Snapper bait there is. Jack Crevalle seem to be attracted to them too.

JC, I would forward this video to GoPro's customer service people. Let them see that you have over 26K subscribers and have been a loyal customer of their product for all these years. That will take 5 minutes of your time and should get you not only a brand new replacement but maybe even an invite to showcase their products. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. You have earned that right. Tight lines! I almost forgot, a good old Mangrove Snapper Sammich would have made those legs feel so much better!!! ;)

Nice throws from the kayak. I do pretty good on land but in a small boat for some reason I just can’t seem to get a perfect throw regularly like on land

Looking smart in that Predator PDL drive. Second throw was a thing of beauty. Absolutely send it back to gopro... that's the only way it's going to get better. it's all by contract anyway. Hey JC, any decent vid editing will remove the wind noise with no effort at all... I use camtasia ... absolutely I can even cut out amp noise with camtasia also wind noise, and even air condition or machine noises. Is the first thing I do when I am editing something.There are other good video editing programs.

Thanks for the idea. I'll have to consider using my Audacity program. I've done some audio book recording where I had to reduce some noises in the mix. If I decided to go with the Hero 8 I do have some ideas for adding some wind screens to the camera.

Sorry about the GoPro door man. I have been terrified it would happen to me on the water. I do like that you don't have to take the 8 out of a housing to access batteries anymore, but I wish that door was more secure. Apparently it is removable for that media mod housing, not a fan. If you are going to make a mod housing for an action cam, it should be able to retain the waterproof feature.

I got the replacement door and used the camera for about five hours today. I didn't have any issues with it. I changed some of the settings and locked the display screen. I totally agree on the keeping everything waterproof when an accessory is added.

@@RadReelingFishing Did you notice the screw knob faces the opposite direction(away from the door) if you use the new mounting buckle that comes with it and some of the newer accessories? When using the old mounts the knob crowds the door and makes it more likely you will accidentally pop it off. This made my headstrap obsolete since it is direct bolt(no buckle) and faces the wrong way. I use a hat now that has the buckle attachment.

Sorry about the battery door! Mine popped off when I was first giving it a once over and ALWAYS kept it over my bag on the water. Would have lost it a few times already if I didn't. Mics are a pain to find for the Hero8 Black for a decent price, unfortunately.

Being Mexican I didn’t know mojarras were a type of fish i thought it was a type of traditional seafood dish they make when they ry the entire fish they just gut it and stuff it with salsa. Have you ever had it?

I’m using a 5 and a 7 black . The 5 have no issues. The 7 freezes up when I wanna start recording without turning my camera on with the on/off button . I have to remove the battery and put it back , than turn it on with the on/off button. No quick start on that one!😬

Is a 4000 reel perfect on a medium rod or would it be better if I got a 3000 sized reel for a medium rod?

I have three 4000 reels on my medium rods and they work great. I can cast a longer distance with the 4000 than the 3...

if i were you i would send it back and don't buy another one until they update it.... OR if you like it that much, make a lanyard for the battery door so it wont be lost again.
