caught shitloads of fish in dirty water on lures at home in menindee,the difference is how ya fish for em,in clear water a lure silhoette thats travellin can be felt n seen at distance and followed easily where in dirty water by the time the fish can zero in the lures moved however far depending on your retrieve or troll speed and he has to constantly try n relocate it,,even that shrimp on your hook takes time to find even though its in close proximity to the fish but they find it because its location doesnt really change,,grab yaself some jackall tn's n spinnerbaits,,cover em with some scent n go bob snags n deep cutouts just like ya were with that shrimp,,youll get a bit of a shock at what ya catch

I've found I always get the biggest of yellas as the first fish off a snag. Always got the biggest straight up then vary in size. Have you had the same?

How long do you expect the river to be no good for casting lures? When will the casting for cod begin?
