Күн бұрынIn the final video from my weekend trip with @aaanglers and @DEBOSFishing I decided to fish exclusively with the Monsterbass Lunkerstick Aggressively Average Anglers Ultralight Rod. Paul and Jeff put a lot of work into making this rod, and even though it isn't available anymore, I thought it would be a good opportunity to talk about all the various factors they considered when getting their own ultralight produced.

Ultimately, I was really pleased with this stick. While I tend to prefer a bit more fast action personally, I love how they were able to execute such a versatile piece of equipment which can really do just about any ultralight technique.

I’ve been watching your videos for a 1 1/5 week now. I started fishing almost two years ago and I’ve tried it all except fly fishing and ultralight. Finally gave in and bought a cheap set up and my god! Its so fun! Caught 4 peacock bass but lost 3 since the hooks are so tiny. Keep these going. Im all in now.

I have one of these rods and I love it. The guys did a great job on the design and I use it for most of my panfishing. And yes it is great on crappie. Thanks for the video Ethan.

Nice day on the water, Great video.😊 This is a great multispecies rod. I can feel a 3" gobie nibbling my DTjr. I target them sometimes. It's also stout enough to land the 15" large mouth that likes a jackworm. I'm no lunker hunter, so it fits my style very well. Side note: I recently hooked a decent size carp. I got it the shore after about a 5 minute fight. What a blast. Unfortunately, my terminal knot broke and he made off with my horsefly.😢

Thanks Josh! Yeah, that’s why I wasn’t sure I’d ever do this video, but they had a rod for me so I made it happen. Kind of a bummer that they put in all that work on the rod and it isn’t available anymore.

I dig the color combo of the rod. Personally I really like my canyon creek super ultralight. It’s rated for 1/64-1/8 ounce but it will handle a 1/4 ounce just fine too. Best rod I’ve ever owned to be honest. Just because it’s consistent and never had a broken rod or guide. Guides are stainless but still

DOT flys I’ve always called them are killers as my pawpaw called them. He always poured his own and fished them on 10ft whippin sticks. He’s been gone for some years now. But everyone remembers the trout he would rip out of the streams with those lol

I love my AAA UL rod. I can confirm about the volume of at least Jeff. I was fishing with him at the Whitehall tourney and I can't tell you the amount of times he was making content and I thought he was talking to me, so I said "What?" I really hope I didn't ruin any of his takes :/

There is a really cheap bass pro ultra light combo (Bass Pro Shops TinyLite Spinning Rod and Reel Combo $30) with good reviews, it would be dope if you did a review of it for the channel

Bass pro wise i bit the bullet few years back and just got a Carbonlite UL. They seem insanely pricey until you realize they have a 10 year warranty.

i’m from SE michigan, and i do some shore fishing generally in the thumb area altogether. do you know any good public waters or even a bridge that I can cast from to catch crappie or other panfish?

It was an LTO (limited time offer) last year. But its no longer available. I got it back in November 2023 black fridsy BOGO

Yeah unfortunately it isn’t sold anymore as I mentioned. I’d say a TFO would be a very comparable rod.

I tend to prefer a full cork grip but I’m more old school for that. I know most folks prefer split grip these days. Doesn’t really make a huge difference - more of a preference thing.

The fact that you are able to catch that many blue gills at that size everytime you go out means 2 things. People there dont eat fish, and there are no southeast asian people fishing there 😂
