In this story, Maxime Cheminade, diver and videomaker, recounts his diving experience on a Southeast Asian tropical island, amazed by the abundant marine life and fascinating traditions of the local people. In 2016, he learns about the Bajau Laut, also known as Sea Gypsies, an ancient water tribe living between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Intrigued, he joins the Bajau for days, witnessing their sustainable fishing techniques. The short film describes his journey across the Malaysian archipelago observing the Bajau's fishing methods and the dynamics of the local fish market. This experience invites viewers to understand how sustainable fishing can support communities while preserving the ocean's beauty and diversity.
