The best way and the most rewarding way to fish, the only bad thing is going to bed and still seeing the float when your eyes are shut lol

These are small floats kzfaq.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU recommend the package is smaller than my hand just to provide perspective. That said I wanted small floats for the times I need to add one when trout fishing or fishing for panfish. The peg is perfect for my application where I want a set hold point that is quickly adjustable and want to be able to add the float without retying. That’s the real advantage here. You can add this float to your line without retying and adjust the depth easily with the peg so it won’t kink your line like a traditionalit. If I need to set this too deep then I’d switch over to ait with a thread stop to make casting easier. But like I said, these are a great value for the price I paid. Probably better suited to applications where your depth is 5-feet or less for the sake of casting.

Wow! This is the most instructive video ever! Here’s me an 83 year old grandad, doesn’t have a clue and about to show the grandson how to fish when we go on holiday on a canal boat! But this video has explained it all. Luckily the man in the shop told me what I needed! And sure enough you are showing me how to set it up! I just hope my thick fingers and thumbs will be okay to tie the knots? Thank you!

I love the this style of fishing, it's bang on exactly how I first started out when my uncle taught me how to fish. It's unfortunate that many waters these days ban ground bait unless it's attached to a feeder etc, or some outright ban ground bait all together. I'm sure most people aren't hauling in 2kgs of ground bait a session. Even when method feeder fishing I only end up putting in less than 250g of ground bait for a whole days session.

Just want to thank you for your advice on chumming a little at a time, but often to keep the fish in the area and feeding. I teach Fly Fishing merit badge to the Boy Scouts. There is a place where a guy has a fish feeder that throws dog food (fish pellets) on a timer. I had the scouts tye a "corn fly" using brown foam. If we toss a cup full of dog food it creates a feeding frenzy and attracts lots of assorted fish... but they soon are full and stop biting. By taking your advice and tossing 3 or 4 pellets at a time, the fish continue to feed constantly over a longer period of time and give the kids more chances to catch more fish. Your fishing methods work on all kinds of fish... Mahalo for all the fishing tips, Aloha, Stan

Very informative Lads . Think you covered everythinng there . When you start out fishing young , the float is most definitely the first thing you learn . So far I have only used the straight waggler, but I want to change up my experience and try out using top and bottom floats on moving water. Would it be possible to see you guys set up this rig from start to finish along with the baits you would use? Much appreciated 😁

I totally agree. I also think that when you fish with worms, its not always a strike. They try to swim away with the worm in the mouth without the hook. I would say worm bait are a bit trickier because of their length. I always try to penetrate the worm at least twice, to make it role up to a ball.

Hi. Your video reminds me of my very fist fishing experience. I was like 5 or 6. I grew up in japan. When i was there, reel was really expensive. My rod was simple bamboo^^ float fishing is how i met fishing. The big ball of chumming ball you throw.......In japan i hide 6 small hooks in there and wait for hours reading MANGA or ANIME.

tip for strung out shotting pattern, bigger leads closer to the float decrease in size towards the hook. String the shots out more towards the hook. this increasing spaced shots is less likely to tangle the line when casting, after failed strike, or when big fish free themselfs. in addition the bait drops "nice". eg: float bb bb 1 1 4 4 6 6 6 hook
@PoetofHateSpeech
@PoetofHateSpeech 9 күн бұрын
If you put the line twice through the eye of the hook, then do the wraps like a normally and then put the tag end through both the loops, your blood knot is a lot stronger

The author is right in many ways. But... Sinker beads, it's better not to hook with this method. In the place where the weights cling, the fishing line flattens. And weak points are made in the places of their attachment. What makes the weak link is not the leash - but the entire equipment. It is better to attach sinkers from the beginning of the fishing line. Sinkers should be soft. At the beginning of the fishing line, you need to make 3-4 flattenings across one line with tongs. And when moving the weights, it is a must to wet the fishing line so as not to overheat it. This will also make it a weak link. In this way, we have a whole fishing line and weights that move nicely on the rig.

I use a float rubber at the bottom of the waggler instead of threading the line through the float, this way you can remove or change it quickly and easily without needing to tie another hook eg if a breeze picks up and you want to switch to a larger float or fish are at the surface and you want to freeline a piece of bread.

1:08 as an option you can pass the end of the thread through the buttonhole that has been created after you passed it through the first small one connecting to the hook. This adds a lot more strenght to the knot and avoids accidental failures.

I am slow at setting up the float. But that's because I have to make sure it's perfect and I'm happy that dropper shot is working for me. It takes me roughly half hour once it's set up. That's casting about 2ft all round swim incase there's even a couple inches difference. Lol I do my own head in sometimes. I do use a float connector at all times. My fave float fishing is done in margins for carp in summer tho or out a bit under over hanging trees. Tip I do great on manilla paste close in.

@@fishingtutorialsno worries! Quick question; I have put 50m of backing cheap mono followed by 100m of nice Maxima line on my reel, is that the right ratio of backing line?
@fishingtutorials
@fishingtutorials 3 жыл бұрын
If your spool is filled to approx 1-2mm beneath the top of the lip, then that’s perfect! The aim is to have enough line for a big cast (100m enough if course fishing) and then the backing is just to fill the spool to the top. Some shallow spools will just take 100m of line and in those cases backing isn’t important. But line can be expensive and there’s no point filling a really deep spool with 500m of costly line! ;)

Interesting, I never put too much thinking into floats when using them , it’s like a one size fit all thinking , so this is a great video

Does the loafer/chubber float you pictured at 6:37 allow the depths to be easily adjusted by pulling the line against some kind of depth adjuster?
