Well, KZfaq is up to its trick again! Not leaving me a place to comment. Pardon me for commenting under your comment. I'm sounding like him now!! What's wrong? I enjoyed your video. I was never a welder. But I always watched people weld when I could onboard the ship. One guy even let me run a few beads once and do some spot welding. He set up everything, though, so I've only seen any of that stuff here. I know you're not a welding show, but I like the videos that you do weld in. I'm just trying to learn a little something. TOP STUFF! 🙏❤️🇺🇸

@melinda5777 it's not that hard . You just adjust your heat or voltage and your wire speed till it looks better . I'm mean there is more to it than that . But it's a good way to learn what different stuff does

The screen change when you adjusted your voltage is actually adjusting your arc length. A larger or higher number on the screen equates to more voltage from the tip of the wire the contact area of the arc on your base material. Typically fine tuning is required to find the highest amperage of the wire feed you deem necessary to fill up or make a weld size you need. Matching the amperage with the old "One amp on your machine per thousandth thickness of your base material" is a good place to start. Forgive my lengthy explanation but 4 years of professional welding and my inner teacher's eye started twitching to share knowledge. Hope it helped and love your videos! PPS: if you were to make more welding content videos i wouldnt complain.

Pulsed mig is typically used in production welding over mig for the fact that you can tune it to get a cleaner weld with less splatter. Years ago I used to know the technical terms but I haven't used pulse for years.
@askmeo2
@askmeo2 11 ай бұрын
We had to use pulse mig in the military vehicle industry because it reduced the heat put into the part while giving the weld almost/or as much penetration into the base material as a constant voltage run over the material would. As well as like you stated: reducing the spatter.

That's a winner , Pulse and the gutsy Plasma are my favourites on that demo the spray arc with pulse may give the duty cycle a shake yet it is stunning in appearance. Co2 is an active gas improves or gives a deeper penetration profile and runs hot , it's used in heavy production welding with flux-cored wire which comes out super smooth as a result of the CO2 Shield. Thanks for that demo on my 3rd hour searching for small cheap welders and this popped up , well done very realistic .

I bought a simder mig tig and stick, it has 240 volts if needed for less than 200 bucks and it did a good job making my mowing trailer. You have to buy the tig cord separately but for the money it's hard to beat. I used it on 120 and 1/4 inch steel welded easy.
@stout8807
@stout8807 6 ай бұрын
Pulse mig works like pulse tig. It basically fluctuates the current. You will set your current you want, then a backing current. It will bounce back and forth between the heats. Works great for filling gaps

Great deal there Keith. You done good son, gettin that one to try out. For average guy workin in the shop / garage, this would do just about anything that they get into. If someone is gonna do a big job or a bunch of thick steel, they might want a bigger machine but this one should do a bunch of what you want. And a plasma cutter to boot. Appreciate everything you do buddy to bring us these videos. God bless ya'll and stay safe on your running around out there.

There are a few points that should be mentioned to the average DIY's, #1 he's using 220 Volts, most garage guys will be using 120V, #2 He's using Tri-Gas which is Argon, Helium, & Nitrogen with a solid wire (GMAW). The gas primarily used for welding Stainless Steel, and it's cost is 3-4 X as much (because of the Helium) as 75% Argon & 25% CO2. #3 Most guys today I believe are using Innershield, Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), which is by far the most convenient method in use today, All Position, no wind concerns, and is code compliant when the proper procedures are adhered to. In combination with a shielding gas of 75% Argon & 25% CO2, it is called Dual Shield Welding. Produces a very clean appearance, it's a very fluid puddle, hotter, not recommended for out of position welding- it will drop out. Best used flat on large/thick weldments w/a fast deposit.

UM,, that's 240 volts NOT 220 volts.. 220 volts is used in most other countries There is a huge difference between 220 and Nor American 240 split phase.. Using the wrong terms leads people to set things up improperly and could cause huge problems.. I know a lot of people who own welders,, Not a single one of us uses flux core and most use 240 volts in their garages.. The only exception is the guy who works on railroad bridges where a gas shield just won't cut it... No entry level welder and few home handyman will be concerned about the fancier gas mixes

@@FishinNStuff "Intelligent people" Interesting choice of words.. Where I come from "Intelligent people" understand that 220 volt on an electrical appliance, it almost always means that is will work with the rest of the world's 220 single phase power,, and rarely if ever means that is is compatible with North America's 240 volt split phase system.. Over the year's I have probably had over 100 people explain 240 volt power to me and not one single time were they correct.. Most will argue for hours rather than to spend 15 seconds looking it up. I have no idea what you are saying changed 75 years ago.. Perhaps the "intelligent people" you made reference to have taken the day off and you are just winging it.. Hopefully this comment has helped your algorithm and you'll get enough money to purchase a clue..

Pulse is nothing more than an and impedance that operates within the frequency and amperage that you're running the welder at. If you can turn on pulse while you're running reverse on TIG welding, it should be enough to be able to weld aluminum more comfortably, but I've did welded aluminum with reverse polarity without much of an issue.

Many high schools, vocational education systems, and trade schools would have welding classes you could take at night. I took welding at a local high school voc. ed. night class a long time ago. In my area the various high schools send students to a centrally located vocational training facility as a cost saving measure. Other areas may still have high schools that teach welding themselves. If you have a local technical college they are likely to teach welding and that would most likely be a day class but they might offer night classes as well. Be aware a welding class will not be cheap. However, your experience there can be very valuable.

I wish you had covered 2 important processes #1 does it have the voltage required to burn 7018? I found out the hard way that my Everlast multi process machine does not. I think I was told that 7018 is a cellulose based Flux and requires 27v. (I don't typically stick weld). #2 you also discussed aluminum MiG but didn't attempt it. Does it power a spool gun? I assume there was probably one in the shop based on the aluminium you were cutting. I appreciate your video and enjoy most of your content immensely. I can't swing this kind of money without knowing.

I have a ideal for you to try . I tried over and over to talk to MR Wilson but he was always busy . He said he would call me back but never did .I wanted to buy the mount for the stomp switch for my shallow Ankers. So here's a Ideal if you take a a red cutting board can you melt the plastic board into a rectangle mold and it stay red. So I can build my own stomp switch block

buy a cheap stick welder and modify it to do mig, tig etc. theres a video on this. you do need to buy the correct torch head. just add a power supply for 12 or 24 volts dc and a motor controller pcb for wire feed . also a couple solenoid valves to open up gas lines for oxygen, argon, co2. not much to it really

That's pretty impressive not too many people do with such a intuitive testing of these machines out there and I'm pretty impressed with that simender. I do welding as a profession that here at the house and I have a primeweld tig225x with the water cooler it's like your friend setup and I'm pretty impressed with that welder I think I might have to check it out and see if maybe I could add it to my fleet to have a MIG in plasma cutter in one.

Honestly, that's really why I told them I'd try it . The price was a bonus. But a mig welder that plasma cuts . That's crazy .

Pulse is like $5k machines only! pulse is to cool weld off on offon off- needed for perfect pipe weld /or thin metal! muffler pipe - if no pulse / you have to tack 1 sec.. stop.. tac 1 sec.. stop.. but pulse does it for you in faster or slower as needed ! Pulse is op as hell when welding!!!! Luv pulse. Truth- machine is straining to do what they did! BET its work time /rest time is 1 to 1= like weld 2 welds .. rest 5 min to cool machine! 1/2 the time spent running to kool itself. ...its too small ...really. close but no cigar for me- maybe good for weekend self repairer.

I wish my everlast 221 sti would pulse in mig mode just for thinner sheet metal work. Then again I have never used a pulse mig. I know the pulse tig is great for a lot of things like outside corners on thinner metal.... That said I am not about to give up my everlast for I love the fact mine is AC/DC and I have a plasma already. Is the plasma on this a pilot ark? I do have to say for the money it does look like the most bang for the buck. What is the warranty like?
@ssimderwelders
@ssimderwelders 11 ай бұрын
We are already preparing a plasma cutting machine with pilot ark and arc welding, which will be on the shelves in about three months. The current SD-4050 Pro does not support pilot ark. We provide one-year warranty service. During the warranty period, as long as the accessories are damaged without modification of the machine, we will replace them. If the machine has usage problems, we will help troubleshoot the problem. If it cannot be repaired, we will resend new machine.

Do you know what the duty cycle is? The Titanium 200 I have from HF is 40% (4 minutes on/6 minutes off). When I first bought it, I didn't think it would be a problem for my home shop needs but I bump into it quite a bit (arc drops out and kicks back on randomly when the machine get heated up). I've been thinking of busting into the machine side of it to see if I can get a fan in there because I didn't want to spend a couple of grand for a pro welder. If this machine has a decent duty cycle, it might be worth a shot. I never needed a plasma cutter but if I had one, I'm sure I'd find some reason to use it, so that's a bonus.
