Hello Farmer Jo! Love the Dollar tree for fish and gardening.Planting potatoes today Russet, Red Pontiac and a purple variety. Got a great little garden tiller/cultivator yesterday 😃😄😁😆! Two drunks were sitting in front of the town bar, a truck load of sod goes by. One drunk turned to the other and says,when I hit the lottery I’m going to send my lawn out to get mowed just like him! Go to U Tube and put in Leroy Troy Ghost Chickens In The Sky 😂🤣, I guarantee you will laugh until you cry!

I got their mini dust pan and brush to tank the substrate out of my tanks I’m emptying. Gets the job done super fast and easy!

We have the dollar store and a buck or two,( lol). Also the dollar tree. We have more choices at the dollar store. I'm going to set up a backyard pond and can't wait to use those noodles and baskets! 🙂

An electric toothbrush is one of the best things I've picked up, great for scrubbing hardscape

Pool noodles=feeding rings I have those rock things as my Betta tank back ground!!! Wanted those 3 space planters, but they sold out before I got there. Yes!! Do lots more walk abouts!!

Joanna we don't have a Dollar Tree in Canada but I go to Dollarama which is pretty close. They have great plastic containers, I raise my Daphnia in one. I buy a few things there. I bought these two gallon plastic buckets with fish on them for my fish room. They were great for awhile, then a month went by where I did not need them and when I went to use them both bottoms had split open. Now I go to Home Depot, they sell two and five gallon pails for $3.87 Canadian. My favorite Dollarama item is their plastic pantry storage boxes. Always a great show!!

Super glue, I misplace mine all the time or can't get the lid off. I like that three section planter! Also if they don't have black paint just mix red, blue, and a little yellow for black. Great video 👍

Lots of great money saving ideas, I’m not sure what my favourite would be (definitely not the dreaded super glue), but I do like the idea of using the baskets as pond planters 😃

Im currently using the rock tiles as a background for my 20g and 5g aquariums, love them!

That double sided tape can be used on vibrating hoses and filters.

Their plastic pasta strainer is great for pouring water into aquariums without disturbing the substrate! I imagine it would also work well for isolating fish for observation. I used to get tupperware there too, but the absolutely TRAGIC $1.25 price hike made it less of a good deal imo

You come up with the best ideas! I have to try the duckweed hack with the comb? That really works? Also that stone backdrop you showed...if that is stuck on the outside of the tank you wouldnt see the stones would you? Your dollar store looks better then ours LOL

Oh girl..I've GOT to get that terra cotta color 3 well plastic planter. Something like that is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I hope and pray fingers crossed that my Dollar Tree has them in stock. And yes, you reminded me to get a couple of pool noodles for floating plants in tubs. I have that watering can, have had it about a year. It's a great watering can for partial water changes in nano tanks, watering plants, and just topping off a smaller tank. BUT BE WARE... Do NOT fill it up near to the top because when you go to pour it out the spout it also runs out the sides no matter how slow or carefully you pour. Ask me how I know and how I was determined to be able to fill it all the way up and was convinced that I just had to be more careful and patient and slow in pouring...🤔😅🤣 NOT...it's a design flaw, but nothing major, and it's still a great little watering can. You can fill it up to a little over 3/4 with no issues in pouring. In fact I went back and bought another one to keep 3/4 full of used fish water on the stand by my front door to remind me as I'm going out to grab it and water my 2 porch planters. It holds exactly enough water to give both planters a good soak. Have a good weekend and a great week. Tomorrow as soon as they open I will be off to Dollar Tree hunting that planter. 😎 👍❤👍

I use the poster board for background I cut it to size and I slide it in between the top and bottom rims it's a nice snug fit no tape necessary.

Your walkabout was amazing. FYI your dollar store looks nothing like the ones in our area of Portland. Neatly filled shelves, organized and stocked, wow. All we have are bare spaces with everything else strewn about including on the floor. Thanks again for all your tips.

We have Poundland over here in UK which is the equivalent to the Dollar Tree. It's not as good as your stores though 😢 Some great ideas for me to look for. Thanks for sharing Joanna

Tip 1 .You no they sell dog food scooper at the dollar store. They are even a little bigger than the yellow buckets scooper Tip2. The turkey baster. I know you showed it before, that is why I bought it for my nano tanks☺

quick tip, keep your super glue in the fridge, it lasts longer when kept in colder temperatures.

I have collected so many of those exact items! Plus, as always, you gave me additional ideas to go back for 😊 I just got those rectangular planters for herb grow outs 🌱 I also love the kitchen tool section - slotted spoons for sorting and moving gravel, turkey baster (of course), salt & pepper shakers for fry food, measuring spoons for meds and conditioners, etc etc! PS just changed out my (previously red white and blue koi now just dark black blue) koi betta’s background to the parchment paper from black after your video, and now I can see him so much better!

My store has a freezer section so I stock up on shrimp.

I love your Dollar Tree videos! So many great ideas. Some favorites are the frames for lids and the turkey baster. I have used the shammy towel for years. I find the picture glass from Dollar stores is just too thin for the top of a tank and shatters easy. Try thrift stores for picture frames and glass instead.
