Glad to hear your plans for the fish pond! I was fascinated by the fishing village in Hinatuan and especially the Sibadan Fish Cage & Resort. What a terrific concept out in the middle of the water. Looks quite spectacular from the drone view. I'm in agreement with you that it's much better than an aquarium - all natural. I'm surprised, though, you didn't by one of those fish and "try one" later on the B-B-Q. 😜😂 I think the wonder of the ancestral homes is that they give us an insight to what the area looked like years ago - perhaps during the Spanish colonial era. Beautiful architecture and quite historic! I'm a sucker for history and especially when it's so accessible. The feeling is as if we have been transported back in time! Aloha at Mabuhay! 🤙

KD your fishpond location is perfect for fish farming, eco tourism, I hope they leave the environment as it is. Structures that blend and harmonises to its environment only. May I suggest, take note or not, go for culturing and propagating. Search for tilapia and bangus that lay eggs. Build a hatchery pond. Should be smaller. After hatching mothers are transferred. Because they eat their young. Cannibalism occurs. Avoid using feeds, it is expensive, prevents and kills algae from growing, which serves as their food and shelter during hot season. Too much of it will kill them too. It diminishes oxygen. Fish is as big and as fat as with feeds. Besides it is organic. Consumers today are organic eaters. Process is long but sustainable. For more details and correct ponds compartments size proportions, and more knowledge, Bureau of Fisheries and Acquatic Resources (BFAR) will provide information. I could write pages for you. 😁 BTW I am a graduate in Bachelor of Science in Fisheries. Major in inland fish culture. Good luck with your fishpond adventure.

Looks like a retaining wall filled in with sand and rocks.. Is what you need.. Dike barrier.. Could build a dock like walkway over wall barrier elevated on poles to walk above the retaining wall.. Cement in foundation posts and tied into each other for support.. That would keep your house land retained and not wash away. Docking posts for boat dock tied into one another or not.. Would keep a walking area level and strong . don't short cut it 😂✌

You don't need to buy fingerlings of bangus or tilapia if you don't want to go commercial Kumander. Just make use of the "panaka"(fingerlings that comes in to your pond every time the high tide water comes in). Before you do that, you need to clean up the pond. Prepare it like you have to dry up the water first and when it's cleaned up, try dumping dry chicken manure inside the pond. Let it stay there for a week before you let the water come in from the irrigation canal. When "lablab" (algae) starts to develop inside the pond, wait until it gets thicker and abundant inside the pond because that would serve as the food of the fish. After that you could start letting the water from high tide come in when you want to change the old water in the pond every now and then. I hope this helps you with your plan.
