Another excellent video. I like your focus on data and technique. Some people's videos seem to be an excuse to show them fishing but never actually show anything useful. I like that you concentrate on showing what we need to go out and catch fish ourselves. Also, I'm a central Arkansas fisherman so it's nice to see "local" content.

I got the app early on and have seen it evolve. I love the app. One of the best things about it is narrowing down the options. I know from past experience that if you start going down the wrong path, you can waste your hole day. I've used the app many times and haven't been skunked yet.

I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t support Ol Jonny! I mean, I’ve read these comments and Jonny has answers to all ( the legitimate comments) It’s apparent he’s working his butt off on this to make it as good as it can get. Also work hard on some more FTM videos Jonny! 😂 Got my Hover rigs in Friday!

You and your channel are awesome. I remember the days when you used to have some skill to catch fish. I love learning and I won't say that I haven't used KZfaq to do so in several varieties but man. Once everybody and their brother are hammering all the fish in all the areas after few years there will be no more or at least ones that are dumb enough to bite

Johnny, I think the 7 day trial of Deep Dive is doing you a disservice. Many people would only get a time or two's usage in 7 days. Not enough time to convince them it's worth their money. People need to have success with it to get them to make the leap. I liked the data, but fall into the category above.

I like the idea of the app. I would like to see a video of it being used in Alabama at lakes such as Wilson Lake, Pickwick Lake, Wheeler Lake etc. Thanks for the video.

We will be adding Section of Lake and updated patterns from TVA lakes in May. Still tweaking the algorithm. We also have a few other KZfaqrs making videos with the app in that area as well.

I'm an inshore fisherman but have been wanting to try more bass fishing. This seems super complicated compared to what I'm used to. Is all that tackle and gadgets really that necessary? I feel like I'd be targeting the same areas highlighted in the app just due to what I know about bass fishing and I didn't need an app to tell me

Haha hats are expensive right now so we just made enough for the team. We have 2 new baits to release ASAP, but after we get those projects off the ground, we'll try to make some hats for the store.

Yes, we are working on herring lake patterns right now. We still need to mark up the lake sections and refine the algorithm to match the unique qualities of herring lakes. Should be coming in the next month or so.

We're working on the data for northern lakes right now. They're very different from the southern lakes we started with, so it will take a little while before we get everything dialed in. The grass lines are such a big factor in where the fish live up there, so we're trying to find a good way to section of the lakes with that in mind.

Does that app only show info on lakes that have had tournaments on?

We will match patterns from our database to lakes based on lake characteristics. So even if the lake doesn't have pro level tournaments, you will still get recommendations from similar lakes. We've found the recommendations are actually more accurate when you take patterns from multiple lakes with similar characteristics because your can override outlier tournaments that were fished in weird conditions. So even on a lake like Grand Lake in Oklahoma that has a lot of tournaments on it, we will still show patterns from other lakes as well if they match Grand Lake's characteristics and the lake and weather conditions.

I think we can sum this up by saying the jig is going to be the best big lake lure for bass most of the time, in most places. If you need this app to tell you what to fish, then I wouldn't throw topwater. Impressive app nonetheless!

Johnny, when do you say the lake if high or low? Down here in Texas if a lake is 1ft high then I consider that high, and the same with low. Thanks!

When we collected the data, we made it relative to the lakes average level in each season. Some lakes fluctuate 1-2ft every week, while others are rarely 1ft high or low. On a lake with pretty consistent water level, I would consider even 1ft high as “high water” There’s no perfect solution or answer, so I would probably try both “normal” and “high” water patterns and see what’s working best if I wasn’t sure.

I liked the previous app version honestly. Every time I look now, I get suggested patterns that aren’t relevant. No grass or reeds on my lake and the only suggestions are in those areas. At least previously I could say I didn’t have grass, this was my water temp, and got more relevant suggestions.

Hey Kory. Thanks for the feedback. We've gotten this feedback from a few users and are working on a solution right now. We changed the water temp input to a season input, which has confused several people. We will make this more clear in our next release. We will also be adding the grass filter back in.

Great. I’m not an app developer by any means, but maybe add a tab with the old info separate from tournament patterns. Seasonal lures or something. It’s disheartening to look at the only time I can fish all week and the app has 0 suggestions.

The pattern options change with the weather, lake conditions, and characteristics of your lake. They also change depending on the pattern filters you set.

I just checked out Falls Lake and there are some conditions where there are only a few patterns. With the new version of the app, we added a few more automatic lake and weather filters to make the data as accurate as possible. I'm going to look into the filters again and see if we made them too strict. There's a fine line between filtering out irrelevant data to make the recommendation more accurate and over filtering. Still a work in progress. Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate all the feedback we can get to make the app better.

I didn't have any in the boat... I didn't even think I would need them to be honest. I went back and looked at the data after this video and was shocked at how many top finishes came on a buzzbait in the pre-spawn when lakes are high and shallow cover is flooded. I have some in the boat now haha!

I like the idea of your app and if the data was current and accurate, it would be a valuable tool. However, you only have one California lake listed and I believe only 2 lakes west of Texas. Just like the major bass tournaments, your app overlooks the west. I cannot support an app that essentially ignores my entire region and at best, would try to compare it to some Texas or southern body of water.

We do have river strategies in the app, but no map visualizations. We're trying to figure out how to deal with flooding, sand bars moving, and other weird quirks before breaking the rivers into sections and adding water clarity.

I have the app. I wish you can put the water temperature in like you could before the new update because lakes temperature can vary depending on what part of the lake you are at.

We are coming up with a solution for that in our next update. The issue we had was that sometimes the water temp would be 62 degrees, but bass we in all three stages of the spawn (pre-spawn, spawn, and post-spawn). This meant we had to show all the patterns for all three stages and there was too much to show on the map. So we changed up the algorithm to use season instead. There’s honestly no perfect solution either way, but we are working on something that should be a middle ground.

I teach my kids that when you pull the fish out of the water, you hold your breath. When you need to breathe, the fish do too. Land the fish, take a photo, get them back in the water, celebrate.
