This is one of the weirdest channels I've come across. I don't even like tinned fish that much. Yet here I am, a subscriber, who gets excited whenever I see an upload from Matthew Carlson. Go figure.

Between this and the Gold Seal video I decided to do a bit of research, and found that International Fish Canners (based in Fraserburgh, Scotland) is (at least according to their website) the only cannery in the UK. They work "under private label contract" so it sure does sound like they make products for Fishwife, Gold Seal, and Ocean's. Gonna keep an eye out for this flavor, it sounds great!

Love some canned fish. When I was homeless I'd eat canned kippers every day because nobody else would take it from the food bank 😂. Still eat them to this day

They opened a Fantastic World of the Portuguese Sardine store in Manhattan. Would probably make a pretty neat video to go and check out, even if I hear the fish themselves are pretty pricey.

Noticed I have the whole suite of fishwife tins at my local grocery store. Not a huge tinned fish eater but they all go dummy - probably a good entry point, the smoked trout tastes like pork, kinda wild.

This just came up in my feed and I realized it’s the same thing that came up on my grocery delivery service. I wasn’t going to buy it at $6.99 a can, but I went back to add it to my next delivery now since they sell it for $10 and it sounds good.

GREAT! I LOVE Mackerel. Kind of expensive though! Matthew, have you ever tried Ferrigno sardines from France? Delicious! I got the 3 pack from the World Market, one has picked lemon, one has rattatouie, (eggplant & zucchini) and the other one has anchovies, pickled onions, and olives. 2 were in olive oil, one was in Safflower oil. SOOO good! Also- have you done the (72 hour) three day sardine challenge? I think I am going to try it!!

Hey buddy, you gotta do the San Amaro European Sardines lightly smoked in olive oil. I bought a 3 pack. Disappointed there was only four fish but once I tasted them they became my favorite over King Oscar. Give a try if you haven't or show me the link if you have (I looked)

Seems like the big tweezers were so off putting that you said F it and went hand to mouth. Edit: finally got to try these and OMG 10/10. Hands down my favorite so far.

Very sad that they're canned in the UK and yet we can't buy Fishwife products here. Seems like it'd make sense to sell them here since most of the transportation work is done for them. By the way, your videos have no business being as good and well edited as they are, are you a professional video editor or something?
