Fiskars Pro Folding Utility Knife is my new best friend. With a grippy handle, a solid folding design, and zero blade storage, it still is my new go-to shop cutter. And here's why...

I live in Asia, and I had been searching for a GOOD utility knife that I would actually carry, and feel safe with my wife using for her everyday use- and she uses it a lot. I finally splurged and bought a few CTC Mastercraft from CTC. She loves it and I am not allowed to touch "hers" ,which is okay as I do have the extras. 4 locking positions, easy blade changes, lanyard hole - perfect for her needs, and belt clip. And best of all it doesn't rust ,and it already has survived being dropped on the ceramic tile floor. And dirt cheap on sale - the price alone made it worth the shipping.

I have had one of these knifes for about a year, the knife is my favourite & I have found the blades to last very well.

I've had the one with the blade guard for half a year or so and it is my favorite. I love the feel of it and the blades do last a long time. I found it interesting that I kept grabbing for it when I needed a utility knife. Now, I just grab it. I also picked up the snap off blade version, but I don't like that nearly as much since the tightening wheel is so small and not as easy to tighten quickly as some of my others.

I have one that I carry and use everyday at work. I’ve been very happy with it. I love the blades! And when they do eventually get dull, I’ve been able to touch them up with a product called “Speedy Sharp” that I also carry as part of my EDC. That Milwaukee knife with the extra blades and rope cutter looks pretty nice too. I like to carry a knife like this that I’m not afraid to beat the crap out of or cry too much if it gets lost. My Dad called them “farm knives”.

My personal favorites Terry is the Milwaukee fastback but instead of the blade storage it has a quarter inch bit driver and also has a bottle opener on the blade end

Looks like a great knife. I bought a Coast brand utility knife a year or two ago and found that the only blades that fit it were their brand. They weren't usually available at the big box and cost more than the standard ones. I can't convince myself to get another knife with proprietary blade types.

You should give the third fastback a try. The one with a bottle opener (never used it) and a bit driver on the other end with a liner lock is my all time favorite. I carried a benchmade 940 before and fell in love with the free floating locking system, which Milwaukee mimics with the fastback. It also stores an extra blade in the handle. My only gripe is from being a lefty. No way to reverse the clip without a deal of modifying. Ideally for me, it would be tip up, left carry. If it had that it would be a 10/10 for me.

Those DeWalt Carbide blades are what I swear by. They last a lot longer than anything else I've used. In some situations tho, a regular old carbon steel blade is preferred because the carbide can be TOO aggressive. Definitely interested on how those Fisker blades hold up. Give us all an update some day 👍

If you want some serious carbon steel get yourself a svord peasant knife. It's made of l6 carbon steel. I literally have had it for months and never had to sharpen it. They're only 20 bucks cool knife too. It is a friction folder though. I like those.

Bought this knife. Had some time this afternoon and did the Lowes/Home Depot holiday dance. Lowes had the Fiskars knife for about $15 and a 2-pack of 10 blades for another $10. The knife is cool. Feels great in the hand. Flips out well. Cuts beautifully. Must be the blades. Also picked up a Fastback 2-pack. Includes both versions - $15. A good price and easy to see for these aging eyes. Lowes has a bright green Craftsman Stanley-like work knife with black accents, made in the USA, for $6. How do you even pass on that? Edit: I feel like I should mention that the blade on the Craftsman is not held firmly at all. It wiggles.

I've been playing with and using the knives. As a contrarian by nature I like to go against the grain, so I'm not a Milwaukee guy. Not that I dislike the company or their tools in general, I don't, it's just that I'd rather have something less common. The Fastback knives are fantastic. Now I understand why they're essentially the industry standard. I like how they open with some control, I like the grips, and the weight. Not that fond of the clip, but it's not important to me. Guys, if you haven't tried the Milwaukee Fastback knives, the deal at HD does the trick.

I've had one of these for a month now. After two weeks the belt clip broke. One of the screws holding the blade is working its way loose and hampering the deployment. The blade is fantastic, I cut cardboard all day talking 1000 cuts and I have yet to change the blade. It's still as sharp as needed.

I bought one of these and I give it a thumbs up but there is one thing I don’t like. I wish they would have designed it so more of the blade is exposed. My Gerber eab has about two thirds of the blade area that can be used. Other than that it’s a great design.

To review clip useless, big fold in slot in the grip, and a push button in the grip but it’s a great knife. Looks like you feel the need for a switchblade. I’ll stick with the slim non folding quick change Stanley 10-499. Btw virtually all shears and snips cut left. Green aviation snips cut right

I use a utility knife every day in my line f work (wine sales). I open and cut HUNDREDS of boxes each week. I just don't understand the hype about the Fiskers knife. I owned and used on for about a year, and I just didn't like it. The rubbery handle attracts dirt, and stains easily from the ink you get on your hands from printed boxes, and is nearly impossible to keep clean. It is bulky and heavy. The clip is very tight, and difficult to adjust. And the rubberized grip catches clothing and aprons and makes the knife pull out of your pocket or off your belt very frequently. I relegated my Fiskers to my studio bench at home, and I use a Gerber Superknife Edge. It's rugged, doesn't catch my clothing, and super slim...

Amazon reviewers keep complaining about blades falling off. Has that been a problem for you? Wonder if that is a design fault or probably a problem with counterfeits. On that note, you should do a video on fakes. I am sure you've run into a few on Amazon ...

I've had the Fiskars Pro folding utility knife for ~3 weeks. I use it daily to cut boxes into small, manageable pieces as part of my job. So far I haven't had the blade fall off. By comparison with the Kobalt folding knife I have, the blade will randomly get stuck in a box or fly off. It's now a back-up stashed away in case I misplace my Fiskars. The Fiskars is more comfortable after as 30 minute cutting session, but an extra inch would make it better IMO. I use Lennox brand Carbide blades. I did get my knife at Lowes, not Amazon so its possible Amazon has fakes?

maybe they think you will cut away from yourself, like you should. It's just not good for cutting a line. fiskers is more for landscapers, so they arent going to be cutting drywall. 🤷‍♂️
Is the Fiskar Pro a Fastback Killer? Totally unexpected.
