Too many people think they must have a crystal clear screen on their dashcam when in reality its job is to help determine fault, thats it.

Very true. My only caveat would be to say that a sharper picture helps identify license plate numbers and faces of people also.

To be honest I would have checked camera was working before clipping the unit back in place. It would have been extremely annoying after doing complete installation and then find camera didn’t work. It seems to be a good resolution camera but it lacks a GPS which means no speed or location info which insurance companies would appreciate.

Very cool!! Does your vehicle have to have internet? Or can it connect to a hotspot on your phone?

It works completely free from the internet. The camera emits it's own wifi signal that your phone can connect to for downloading the videos and pictures but they are not uploaded anywhere.

I have a question for you. What is the camera keep on cutting off is it because you cannot operate the camera and Apple CarPlay at the same time thank you.

That is true, you cannot use the camera the same time as Apple Car Play

Makes no sense, Apple CarPlay does not use WiFi. It uses Bluetooth

It works with carplay. You just can't view the live feed. You have to hotspot to the camera if you want to see the feed live, which you are driving so why would you any way.

@@m4nc1n1 True. Just installed it myself. Got the one with the rear camera, and It works great. You only need to link up the phone to change camera settings or download videos. Viewing the live feed is pointless. CarPlay works great while the cameras are doing there thing silently in the background. You pretty much forget it’s automatically doing its job.

I have a question for you why does the camera keep on cutting off? Is it because I have Apple CarPlay on or does it still work with Apple CarPlay connected since Apple CarPlay uses Wi-Fi?

I'm not an Apple user unfortunately but if carplay uses wifi direct then that is likely the issue. Your phone is probably bouncing between the connections.

Your phone can only connect to one wifi connection at a time. If you're attempting to live stream your camera and keep carplay going at the same time the wifi will only connect to one source at a time so you either get your carplay or camera. It would be like trying to connect to carplay and a Hotspot at the same time, it just can't do it. You can try to physically connect your phone with a cable to carplay and then connect to the camera using wifi.

Apple Carplay uses Bluetooth, not WiFi, so this should not be the case

If someone hits you in the rear, the overwhelming majority of the time it's always determined to be their fault. In my opinion there's no actual need for a rear facing cam.

@@donniev8181 Beyond that, even the forward facing camera will show if you were doing anything wrong at the time, even if it misses the actual impact in the rear.

@@dontburnthehousedownvideos I cannot see registration plate numers on the video - even in 4k. On other cameras (if they record in 4k) usually you are able to read the registration plate numbers

@@marekd3758 They recommend to buy the filter to get better quality photos from the glare. Also I think if you had the original file you could zoom better into the video to see the plates.

@@marekd3758he’s not running in 4K. I think he thinks he is. I was looking closely at his app settings. The default setting is 2K (2560 x 1440) and he didn’t change it. If he had taken a look at the video resolution settings, he would have seen the 4K setting. Nevertheless, he said it was awesome. 4K is (3840 x 2160).
