I expect he just used the "PlayerFinder" hack module: unpatched servers tell the clients the exact location of lightning strikes, so you just need your client to inform you of the location

I have to imagine Popbob knew leaving one empty portal frame _just begs_ someone to place an eye there, and if he knew placing an eye would play the end portal sound, then all he would have to do is wait for news of the sound being heard; and he would know one of his portals had been found. That's just my personal theory, I can't think of another reason why someone would leave a trap like that. And if you had admin control and could just spawn a portal, why would you go through the trouble of even making the end portal frames?

i understand your feeling. i was grifed by a player and spent the rest of the my time on the server in a escalating war of intelligence counterintelligence, ambushes, traps, raids and way too many griefed bases. we were nemesis. i still have fond memories of exploring his bases. when he log off and never come back i realized that my time on that server was fueled by the rivalry with him. so when you speak of popbob i can understand you all too well

So weird how that can happen. The closest I've come to that wasn't nearly as extreme, I just spent 2 hours in the same online custom game of Halo: Reach killing this other player. We kept targeting each other and, over time, our kill methods and the setup required for them and for our hiding spots got more and more ridiculous. I hated the guy but by the time he left, I realized I missed him

@@poorpuppy the end isn’t that dangerous. And if you are into building I would highly recommend going because of shulkers, elytra, and end blocks which all make building a lot easier

I was playing for the first time last month and it started to rain, and then after hearing a bunch of times that lightning was disabled, my mind was blown when lightning started striking and everyone was freaking out about it. (It's less of an interesting story at all now but at the time I felt like I had just witnessed something major.)

I know this is a joke but for the people wondering why it took 6 months for fit to make this video is because the sooner this video comes out, the sooner the grieves come. If they find out about it when fit makes a video they will all be alerted, however, if he gives it time, news may arise that popbob's base has a portal and so the grieves would already be somewhat aware so it would have less of an effect and be given more time to protect it

At this point, they could make a movie about 2b2t. Half the stuff that happens in the server is like it's a fantasy film. A player researching teleportation mistakenly finds the most infamous player's private portals to another dimension, and accidentally triggers it, sending a message to the entire server instantly that something ancient has been discovered. Sounds like the beginning of a summer blockbuster.
