@@IkaAstuty-jl5vr We have sweet and sour ones in my country. We also have the packaged imported ones from Thailand which are super sweet. We also do what we call a Tamarind sauce where we stew the tamarind with sugar and a little ginger...really delicious

This video reminds me of a story I heard. Someone who came to Kerala, India and saw coconut for the first time. The locals offered him coconut and he ate it. When the people asked how was the coconut, he said ‘quite good with lots of fiber and the seed inside was very hard and big and hence he threw away the seed!

I'm an Indian. Its very common here. We make many recipes. We also use the seeds to make eatable powder by adding different things which s very good for bone pains to he healed. We also make pickle which are long lasting for two to three years too.

Ok die kenne ich schon sind ähnlich wie Datteln, eine wunderbare Ergänzung unserer bekannten Früchte. Spannend für mich die " Verpackung " bei uns in Deutschland gibt es eine Salami die ist ebenso mit einer " Schnur" verpackt😂 Diese Früchte haben auch einen Kern, der sieht aus, als wenn er aus Glas wäre. Wunderbar 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Danke❤

In the Philippines we have a vegetable soup made with tamatind which was voted as kne of the best vegetable soup in the world. It is called sinigang. We crave that very often but we also eat the ripe ones lìke that. The green unripe is the one used for sunigang. We also ise that to make a dipping sauce for grilled fish. That and fish sauce (patis).

I love Tamarind. In Guyana 🇬🇾 we make Tamarind sauce and use Tamarind in some of our dishes. The Tamarind adds flavor to the dishes and it taste way better with it then without it. 🤤😋

We call it tetul (তেতুল) in Bangla. But like others mentioned, tamarind is from Arabic Tamar Hindi (تمر هندي) or Indian date/fruit. The word tamar is dry date and this imli/puli/tetul fruit in the subcontinent seemed like some variety of date to Arabs.
