Fitting a New Pinion to an Old Wheel

This is the pin wheel that causes the hour and quarter striking on a monumental clock by Farcot. The old pinion was a poor replacement and the clock had never worked properly as a result of this.
When we work on projects like this, we get so absorbed time flies by without our noticing.

Thank you for this video. It was indeed possible to get absorbed in the process. I too think some commentary would be helpful. It could be a voice-over added in post-production, in fact that might be the best approach. Watching a second time, everything fit together better. I was surprised not to see any flux used in the soldering steps. Was that off-camera? Did I just miss it both times? Is there a reason not to use flux? Another question was why do so much fitting using a hand graver? Very skillful, but without explanation it would seem that mounting the tool in the lathe carriage would ensure a true surface. And, again, thanks to NAWCC for producing this and the other videos I've found. I'm a member and I do appreciate them.
