To save energy and to make sure the van is toasty warm in the winter and cooler in the summer we've fitted extra insulation in the rear doors of our Elddis CV20 Fiat Ducato based campervan.
To do this job, you need;
- Sound Deadening Mat (link below)
- Roll of Insulation - Recycled plastic so it doesn't hold the moisture - (Link Below)
The tools needed to complete the job are;
- Trim removal tool - to remove the rear door card trim clips (Link below)
- Pair of scissors - to cut the mat
- Gloves - to stop you catching yourself when installing

It took me about 2 hours to complete the job all be it sure it could have been quicker. Peeling the backing off the sound deadening mat and cutting it for the various shapes took the longest time.
You need to be careful not to snag up the mechanisms so I left some space when fitting the insulation.
If you decide to do this yourself, this video is just a guide on how I have gone about it to suit my specific purposes and may not be the best way of going about it. Any mods you undertake you need to personally assess the risk before going ahead and whether it's needed or right for you.

I got this excellent idea from the CV Owners group on Facebook. If you have an Elddis or Compass CV campervan (or have one on order) it's a fantastic friendly group with some really helpful advice and ideas.

Also thanks to Rick and Heather from Pearl the CV20 for their video which I previously watched and then watched before doing this mod as it showed what to do and saved me time working it out and making sure I was prepped with the right type of materials and tools.
