Raptor’s Garage | Team Overland UK - The Archives
For 5 years, Chris and Paul built a fantastic following of subscribers, who eagerly awaited each Friday for the latest video to drop, documenting the vehicle builds, adventures, and beer tales coming from Paul’s garage.
So much time, effort, and dedication take their toll. For still yet unknown reasons, the pair went their separate ways. I was burdened with some very difficult family drama, ultimately ending up with me having to sell the Mitsubishi L200, and moving all my life belongings, including all the newly purchased welding gear, plasma torch, and compressor, into a 20ft shipping container, where it still resides as I upload these videos.
Paul began attending shows on his own, traveling with new people, and has started his own KZfaq Channel documenting his ongoing build of Beryl, the Defender. I’m sure in the near future he’ll add more exciting projects and adventures of his own. You can find him over at Adventure365.
Unfortunately, I recently discovered Paul had decided to delete the Channel, which I found very upsetting. Not only was it 5 years of hard work and expense, but it also became a fantastic resource for fellow off-road enthusiasts and Overlanders. It was always enjoyable to sit back with a beer and be reminded of the fun times we shared and the adventures we had.
I am also conscious of the great support we were shown by our sponsors and the fact they would use our videos not only to promote their fantastic products but also as a great aid in fitting and using what they sold.
With that in mind, I decided to set up the Channel again and load up all the videos we created. It’s an enormous job, with nearly 300 videos, but I hope it will be appreciated by both old and new subscribers alike.
I do plan to return - both Angela and I are set on building a capable camper/motorhome in the not-to-distant future, and for the time being, I’m still trying to hold onto Red Five - the 1998 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi, with a view to once again, cut the rot out, fit the fantastic LongRanger kit, and make it a serious off-roader - cos let’s face it, we’re ever closer to that Zombie Apocalypse!! When I do, I plan to rename everything “Chester’s Chop Shop”, in memory of my incredible dog, Chester, who I lost in 2021.
All the best - and check out those fantastic sponsors below who helped us enormously over the years.

16:12 November 7, 2023. I put an intake gasket on a 1997 disco. It will not crank at all. Any suggestions.

Forget the expanding foam. You should be weling all of the seams on the doors and where the inner wheelwells meaet the fenders, if you do not have a welder, at the very least you should be using rei-enforcrced fiberglass, mastis is a very bad idea, so is expanding foam. spray the insides of the doors with rust convertor, then a coat of zinc primer . then weld all seams using compressed air to cool each weld to prevent warping.. same goes for where fenders meet innner fender wells. it is a shame you trimed the innerfenderwells . now you will need to weld in strips of metal conneccting the inner fender wells to the fenders again usisig compressed air to cool each well to prevent warping.. . dont forget the rust convertor or the zinc primer. you will have to remove any traces of expanding foam anf mastic you may have used, Hope this helps!

Totally agree - would do it different next time for sure. Plan to chop all the rear off now and make it a tray back. But was always a bit dubious about Paul's suggestion to just fill with expanding foam.

I bent the inner door metal in then used seam sealer which I find acceptable. Very small gap and pretty standard. Not too worried about Rust since it's aluminum and that is literally what seam sealer is for.
