Hello and welcome to the episode, today I'm fitting the Tec 2 into 1 Stinger exhaust system to my 2022 euro 5 interceptor 650. in this video I will show you how to remove the standard system as well as showing you side be side sound comparisons, stationary and out on the road.
Where to buy: www.tecbikeparts.com/product/...
Help the channel and Buy Me A Coffee: www.buymeacoffee.com/nicksepi...
This system is by far the best value for money exhaust you can buy on the market today. The stainless steel finish looks stunning and the welds are spot on,
the centre junction pipe has a baffle installed allowing the use of a small end can without making the exhaust too loud
both pipes have oxygen sensors threads welded into them, so no re mapping required
its very important you read these instructions carefully because the latest edition has been improved from the previous. The main change is, keeping the old gaskets in the head and use the new ones over the top of them, and also making sure you keep the baffle in, especially on euro 5 models because it will run too hot and damage the exhaust system,
now its time to remove the stock system, make sure your bike is cold.
Start by removing the oxygen sensor wire, carefully snip these two zip ties.
Now remove the right horn from the top bolt
slide the plug forward from the bracket, push in the tab and separate
please not the yellow marked wire is for the right exhaust and the green is for the left exhaust
now remove this heat shield, it has one bolt and slides off as shown
loosen the clamp
unscrew the muffler bolt
wiggle the muffler off
unscrew the manifold bolts as shown
now remove the centre clamp and slide off the manifold
remove the oxygen sensor with a quick jolt
do the exact same for the left side
as per instructions leave the stock gaskets in and place the new ones over the top
screw on the oxygen sensor, just nip it up
grease the new gasket to hold it in place
install the left shoulder pipe as shown
screw the two nuts on but dont fully tighten them, just enough so the pipe can move but not fall
grab the down pipe and push the gasket all the way in until it stops
install the clamp so its snug but not tight
slide the pipe on the left shoulder
grease up the right gasket and place it over the old one
screw in the oxygen sensor and tighten
manoeuvre the sensor round the frame and screw the nuts in finger tight
grab the centre section and slide on, this will be a tight fit, give the pipes a wiggle getting the right angle and it will slide in, use wd40 if you need to
install the centre bracket
install the baffle into the muffler, use sir clip pliers, tap in with a screw driver make sure its seated correctly, use wd40 if you need to
slide the muffler on and put the bolt in finger tight
install the exhaust springs, be careful and wear eye protection
install the centre bolt, you may need to put the bike on the stand stand to get access to it
plug in both oxygen sensors and cable tie them as they were before
install the horn
use the supplied cable tie and wrap it round the clutch cable, keeping it away from the down pipe
now get an assistant to pull backward on the exhaust system while you tighten from back to front as shown, the reason I did this was to make the gap larger between the front manifold and the frame, making sure you dont over tighten the manifold bolts, tighten them in sequence from up to down and nip them up with a small ratchet, they are around 12-18 nm
filly clean the exhaust with parts cleaner
allow to run for 15 minutes and check for any leaks , place your hand over the end to hear and feel for any hissing from the joints
allow to cool and recheck manifold bolts

Thanks for the vid, Nick. I just fitted the stinger on my inty and benefited from your advise and DIY step by step. It's one of the best and made the install relatively easy for an old far sighted, adhd, visual learner. It still took me the better portion of this afternoon but, it looks sweet and I had been putting this off due to my mediocre wrenching skills.

This one of the positive points about the RE 650 ownership - since the initial price was so reasonable, it leaves you the option to customize your bike to your taste. One of the advantages of this exhaust system is it reduces a considerable amount of weight which makes the bike faster.

Hi George from TECBIKEPARTS, Thanks for this video. I would just like to point out a small error. When fitting the front pipes to head the slotted hole should go to the bottom and the round hole to the top. As the head castings can vary and we have cut away the flanges at the top to give more clearance to the flange/ head casting. Otherwise a great job thanks.

The new exhaust system sounds really good and i like it alot to be totally honest with you nick matey 👍👍 oh and you have got me jealous now with your royal Enfield interceptor lol 😃😃 haha i just cannot wait to get a royal Enfield interceptor myself next year 👍👍 and i like the 2 into 1 exhaust system by stinger which i like.... But i still think that the royal Enfield interceptor will still look great with a twin exhaust system by s&s exhaust system which I'll probably go for because it makes the royal Enfield interceptor look good with twin exhaust system but don't get me wrong with the single 2 into 1 exhaust system that you have got and it sounds great and prefect by the way 👍👍👍 but i just like twin exhaust system on royal Enfield interceptor with it being a 650cc but with a great sound to it 👍👍 But i really enjoyed watching your KZfaq video on your new exhaust system and its very much appreciated 👍👍 thanks from mark from the Wirral Merseyside 👍👍 oh boy nick matey you have got me jealous now with your royal Enfield interceptor cannot wait to get royal Enfield interceptor 650 myself next year 👍👍 thanks nick matey 👍 from mark from the Wirral Merseyside 👍👍👍

@defender1006
@defender1006 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, the weight saving alone is considerable and will help the performance, via the power to weight ratio, the whole 'TEC Bike Parts 2 into 1 Stinger system' is weighs less than a standard silencer alone and then there's the sound, so much more beefy and purposeful. A bit like when I changed the standard system on my 2006 Triumph 900 Scrambler with the Arrow 2 into 1, I then had it dyno'd by Larry @ PDQ, Taplow, it was jetted with 125 mains rather than 120's he said that 122's would be the ideal jets if they existed! With EFi bikes you don't need to do that as they have a certain 'latitude' allowing them to adjust to some changes in combustion, exhaust, fueling etc, unless you go 'full race/wild' of course?

Another top video Nick . Well done. The OE pipes look great but are a bit heavy. The TEC stinger headers look like someone dying for "P". But I think it's a good move to shed lots of weight. Put the originals away somewhere dry and they can be refitted when it's time for the bike to find a new home. I hear the EURO5 ECU's do not allow much in the way of tuning a system.
@nicksepisode
@nicksepisode Жыл бұрын
Pipes are in doors all wrapped up. The e5 model has a lock on the ecu, won't being before someone brings out a hack for it though. Runs much better at the minute to be honest. No euro 5 restriction
@ruahinesrider
@ruahinesrider Жыл бұрын
You can get remap for Euro 5 models with aftermarket pipes & air filter.There is a video on KZfaq where a garage remaps a Euro 5 model on the Dyno but leaving baffles in on Euro 5 to stop running to lean.Ultimatly a tune(remap) on the Dyno for Euro 5 will richen it up was & not be so lean & be best to gain performance & Euro 4 a Power commander or Powertronic or a Remap.A Remap is probably the best on Euro 4 models as well but Powertronic & Power commander give you a choice of 2 maps from a button mounted on the bars.A Remap on Dyno with headers,air filter is a one time tune.

Hi bud, congratulations on the purchase! The reason you need to keep this in is because of back pressure. If you remove it, the bike will run Lean, get it mapped, and you'll be ok without baffle. Having said that, if you dont ride more than 2 hours in one trip, you'll be ok with the baffle out. 4 hours without baffle and your bike will get a little too hot 🔥

I mean revs drop when you close throttle but with finesse you can prevent it. I don't believe it's a relay issue, I think its more air fuel ratio related, could be the evap but it runs better with the free flow exhaust, yet to try a high flow filter.

You can't knock these in terms of value. I do like the look of the stock system and the presence of the twin cans at the rear. The only reason that I would consider changing them on mine is to reduce the weight, but I would have to go for a twin system for aesthetics and so that I am not left with a blank spare exhaust hanger on the N/S.

The 2-2 exhaust is also nice from tec. The exhaust bracket is behind the rear peg and don't look odd though. I like the slimline looks.

Hey, hello from Germany. Also bought a 2022 interceptor. is in the underground car park and we are both waiting for spring. Can you tell me if/why the 2022 models have a black front brake line. The older ones have a silver "steel flex" line and this is either just a standard brake line or a "steel flex" with a black cover. Do you know that? The exhaust has a great sound, but the TÜV in Germany would be against it. And I would like it better if there was a different exhaust on both sides as well. Still have a lot to assemble. Windshield, sump guard, engine protection bar and maybe a different seat.By the way, I'm back after a 38-year break. Now retired, you need a little joy and refresh memories. On trips to the North Cape or on 2 weeks at the TT on the Isle of Man in 1982 ;-) Grüße aus Deutschland ;-)
