Cooking Utensils in Ranked from Worst to Best. Which cookware is the best. Which cookware is safe?
Do you use non stick pans or aluminium vessels to cook your food? Or the pressure cooker is a part of your daily cooking? If yes then you might be unknowingly inviting serious health issues like Hypothyrodism, PCOD, loss of memory, complications of the heart, kidney and even cancer. So which is the safest cookware in the Indian market? To make things simpler for you I examined the most commonly available cookwares in the Indian market and on the basis of their toxicity have categorised them into 5 categories.
01:03 - Category 1 - These is the worst cookware in the Indian market. What's disturbing is that more than 90% of the Indian urban homes use it. If you want to stay healthy, this cookware should be out of your kitchen.
02:25 - Category 2 - This is also among the worst cookwares in the Indian market. It is also widely used by Indians.
03:40 - Category 3 - These cookwares are definitely better than the ones in the previous two categories but are far from best. They too come with hidden dangers.
04:45 - Category 4 - These cookwares are among the safe and practical options. Although, they do have certain limitations.
06:00 - Dishonourable Mention - This video is incomplete without the mention of this cookware. It was never a part of Indian cooking heritage but now it is a household name.
06:44 - Category 5 - This cookware is by far the best among all. It is the most scientific cookware ever made. What's great is that it is also cheap and available.

I am using earthen clay pot since 2 years … I can say that it’s really good you can easily cook any dishes exception frying . Before using u need to keep 2 or 3 days in deep water later you can use on daily basis .. for cleaning you can use salt or else wood ash (rakh in Marathi ) . I have seen my mother use to keep clay pot in sunlight but in cities it is not possible I am cleaning it by water boiling in it and some lemon .. I have noticed atleast odour is not coming from vessels and it removes stickiness too … This is my experience may be I am making mistakes… if anybody knows they can also suggest .

1) sour ingredients make the food toxic in brass as well as bronze in the same way as in copper utensil.. 2) In stainless steel nomenclature, x:y does not mean chromium:nickel... please check the literature.. 3) Material getting removed during cleaning of utensils with abrasive scrubbers is the reason of reduction of wieght of aluminium vessels as they are softer in nature and not due to mixing of aluminium into food... material reduction happens in stainless steel and cast iron utensils also.. 3) Now-a-days, clay pots/utensils are also made with addition of chemicals.. so that is also not 100%safe what claimed here.. 4) Cast iron utensils are the best because they are in purest from without any coating, without undergoing chemical processes.. rusted ones can be cleaned easily..nobody cooks food in ruated cookware 5) THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT NON-STICK COOKWARE ARE THE BIGGEST HAZARDS WHEN IT COMES TO COOKING..

Brass or Copper readily reacts with acidic or excessive salty foods and it can actually leave a metallic smell and taste to your food. Clayware and Cast iron requires high maintenance. According to me the most practical cookware could be stainless Steel. Make sure you buy it from a reputed brand.

I have gone through few hundred comments under this video. I would like to clear few doubts asked by many people. 1. Clay pots will not work under induction stove. Induction stove works based on magnetic field. If any vessel with a magnetic base will work on it. Since clay pots are not having magnetic field it will not work. If you want to know which of the vessels you have will work on induction stove, just pick up a magnet and bring it close to the base of your vessel, if it sticks it should work on induction stove. 2. Many people are in favour of pressure cooker. But pressure cooker is not healthy to use. The simple reason is - while cooking anything, the food should come into contact with five great elements of nature, that is, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and sky or Akash. Earth - any vessel's ore is taken from earth. Water - most of Indian cooking involves addition of water in one way or other. Fire - without fire cooking is not possible traditionally. Akash - is a void space which is existing in all style of cooking. Air - this is the problem with pressure cooker where food is not allowed to get in contact with air while cooking which is not the problem of any other "non-pressure"cooking vessels. 3. Many people are asking for the so called scientific proofs for whatever good things you shared. This is the mentality of people who thinks whatever they are doing is right or who fears to face the truth. A simple question to them - on what basis they first started to use their cooking vessels. Did they ask the same proof or lab reports or evidences to support their decision to buy non-stick cookware or aluminium cookware? Never! then why now? Please don't regard the people who posts comment against this video. We can't change everyone whom we meet. And it's not our job to do so!!!! Keep spreading your knowledge!

So how feasible is earthen pots to be used on a daily basis and how is it to be maintained? 😳🤔 Must be breaking too easily.. How long does it last? Easily cleanable? Can we use usual dishwashing soaps on it? Does it retain the smell of the food? If used frequently over high flame, does it have chances of bursting or cracking? Omg.. Had so many questions 🤦🏻 I earnestly request you to do a separate video for earthen pots.. It's indeed a vital topic which is unknown to the most of us sadly.. Thanks a lot

Useful video. It is always wise to look back to the healthy life of our ancestors before we do something. They used only clay/ iron/brass/stone vessals and bio spoons made of jackfruit tree leaves, aracanut tree leaves, cocunut shells etc. For the last 3 to 4 years I use cookwares made of clay, iron or stone ('kalchatti' in our language) only. Very rarely steel vessels too. For serving, only glass, ceramic, coconut shell or steel utensils. And yes, banana leaves, of course! I threw away all my non stick cookwares out of my house without any concern. But still I could not avoid pressure cookers. Could you please tell me what is the metal used for making that Futura black pressure cooker? Is it healthy to use for cooking?

I don't get the idea that pressure cooker destroys nutrients by adding excess pressure. The science of pressure cooker is different. When pressure is increased, the boiling point of water is also increased. So the temperature becomes high and thus food is cooked fast at high temperatures. The temperature dependent nutrients can break at high temperatures. But.. in general pots also boiling temperature is 100 degree Celsius for water. Temperature dependent nutrients like vitamin C will get destroyed in ordinary vessel also. Again in high altitude , where air pressure is low.. cooking food is only possible by a pressure cooker. In a way , I think you must look at your comments on pressure cooking more deeply.
@shaantubes
@shaantubes 5 жыл бұрын
Probably he should have said or meant that because of pressure the temperature required to cook gets lesser than what ia actually needed. Say under normal conditions, rice would require x degrees of temp which is achievable only under non pressure cooking situation, thus taking more time. Whereas when pressure cooked, the rice gets cooked at lesser temperature thus not able to produce the nutrients. Under the non pressure situation, rice will only get cooked or say nutrients of the rice will only emerge out of the rice when normal cooked. Rice will keep on extracting heat from the burner till it is naturally "cooked". While under pressure cooking, it is by force made to fluff and make it cook while not being able to suck out those nutrients.
@sanchitamukherjee678
@sanchitamukherjee678 5 жыл бұрын
@@shaantubes .. nutrients won't emerge in the process of cooking. Nutrients are produced while crops are growing as a fruit of a tree. Any cooking process destroys some part of the nutrients. These nutrients are vitamins actually. Most of the vitamins are not stable in cooking temperature. Hence we are guided to eat fruits and salads as well.

Dear Fit tuber, This letter refers to your video suggesting non use of aluminum cooking utensils in this video. I own a Aluminum Utensils manufacturing company. Your video has been widely circulated on social media and in this regard this letter is to inform you about the misinformation disseminated through this video to the society. You mentioned that cooking in aluminum utensils poses many health risks. We would like to know the scientific evidence for that claim. We understand that this type of misinformation is widely available in Whatsapp as well as in You tube, but sadly this has no scientific support. No research institution in the world has proven with experiments that aluminum utensils have declared health risks. The major concern to demonstrate this health hazard is as follows 1. Alumina gets lyched from aluminum utensils and that goes in the human body, this has a negative impact on the human body. To counter that I want to inform that, 1. Alumina (bauxite) is the most widely available substance in the world. In consequence, even root vegetables, water, air also contain alumina. At low concentrations, aluminum in food, air and water is unlikely to be harmful to humans. The amount of alumina which goes naturally in the human body is much greater than what goes with lyching in aluminum utensils. The information that is available on social media is hypothetical information without scientific proof. I in this letter also want to inform about the advantages of aluminum utensils or the reason why aluminum utensils are widely used. 1. Aluminum is the best heat conductor as a result. I. It saves lots of energy. II. Faster cooking III. Saves the environment due to lower energy demands. 2. Easy to clean, easy to maintain. 3. High durability and long life. 4. Corrosion resistance. 5. Most aluminum utensils are made from recycled aluminum, which contributes to saving the environment. I ask to avoid falling into the misinformation which has been spread with ulterior motives by another metallurgical industry. As an individual, I am always available to answer your questions about aluminium utensils. I also ask that you conside to discontinue this video and join me in containing this misinformation about the health risks related to the use of aluminium utensils.

Clay pots meant to a absorb toxins from the food while we cook which is good but won’t the toxins be harmful while we use the same clay pot everyday. I read that we are supposed to change them once in a month or every 2 weeks for regular cooking. Please let me know what you think ?
