In this video I go over 5 quick tips that will help you cast better with euro leaders.
Tips 1-3 are about your rod/leader/ and fly placement.

Thanks for the tip on the tip cast (see what I did there?) For real though, I've struggled casting small beads and drys with my euro set up, but I think changing up my cast will help.

Definitely , a thicker leader formula will help as well.

Thank you this awesome! All this time I was told wrist action was fly sacrilege! Now I see through the lies of the Jedi. Could you touch on if/how you fish/adjust your rig for different water types you might encounter? For example if you are fishing a shallow riffle, and then walk up to a deep pool, do you change your whole rig to reach bottom? Or just let the sighter go under the water?

Seth Allyn wristing it is a sacrilege in fly casting (most times). In euro casting you can use the wrist to force the tip of the rod to turn over your weightless rigs . The wrist comes into play when oval casting (tip 5) because you’re using the weight of the flies to load the rod like in conventional (spin) fishing . In terms of rigs that’s a whole other video I’d stay tuned . In a nut shell it rig depth to heavy fly and use rod angles to go from shallow riffles to deep pools . Tippet diameter and beads (tungsten, size) also have huge impacts.

Hold ya line in the left hand....better feeling and set hook.....really important by flyfishing and euronymphing

If you hold it on the left you risk adding slack to the system . You also are left in an awkward spot when you have the rod in one hand the and line in the other . By stripping though your Rod hand you eliminate the above variables .

Yessir , thicket leader formulas cast better but sag. Depends on what I’m doing for the day

Absolutely , I own 5. Big fan of that Rod and use them as my guide rods in euro trips .
