The original Never Let You Go / You Can't Take It With You clone is lost & gone forever, so I stitched together this as a substitute.

Yes, an absolute "classic" Do-Wopp record from 1962 on the CHEER record label Brooklyn's own "The Five Discs"! Everytime I hear this song it sounds great. I love the Rockin sax solo. This song also got a lot of "air-play" on NYC WCBS-FM 101.1 back when their oldies format was the 50's and early 60's and also bringing songs like this back to life for a new generation of listeners. Truly a great record from the pre-"Beatles" era (before the world changed) LOVE this song and always will. Thank you Brooklyn's own, "Five-Discs" for this timeless CLASSIC!.........

Hi Jonathan, as far as the lyrics go....I can get those over to you but I would have to sit down and re listen to "Never Let You Go" once again. Not a problem. AS far as a song comparable to that one, what comes to mind first is "Because of You" by the Dreamers - another great NYC Do-Wopp record. I'm glad you enjoyed the song....anything else feel free to contact me and I'll try to get those lyrics over to you ASAP. Nicky

It got a lot of airplay on Murray THE K`s Show on 1010 WINS in Dec. 1962. I think it won record of the week. Screw WCBS-FM,they sucked after 1974 IMHO.They were a poor excuse for an "oldies station".
@Nickygino3 жыл бұрын
@@wynonie Yes I agree, but you are talking about 1962!! A very long time ago and a totally different world. Most people feel or felt that WCBS FM was pretty good during the 70s and most of the 80s. We are talking about the last 25-30 years or so where the song was heard and listened to by a completely younger and different generation of fans who discovered and loved DO-WOPP music! Radio is BIG business especially in the big cities such as NYC, L.A. and CHICAGO and the networks have a lot of ground to cover and "STRATEGIC MARKETING" and advertising as they always put it, always comes into play especially as the years pass and they want and need to stay afloat! They have to pay the bills! Unfortunately, big business and big money win out and not our love for "DO-WOPP" and 1950s Rock and Roll music...........

The Falsetto in this song, is the best I've ever heard. It's so pure it's almost mechanical. I say that in a good way... The song is so up. Two of the FIve discs songs. are, "the world is a beautiful place" and "I remember" Who doesn't remember. "I remember"

Your presentation screen shot is the worst timing possible for that little girl. Decent dancers know, not looking at your feet is a cornerstone of dance. She is an excellent dancer and is not looking at her feet, but your shot catches her looking down, giving the impression she is watching her feet. Wish the scene had been selected 2 seconds later.
@uzivatel5610 ай бұрын
But she does look down. It's literally a shot from the movie.
