Sorry if this isn't a good spot for this, but I think a cool idea for a video would be "what are good monsters to use for a sleeping party" or how to run them. Because the party is out camping there is usually just one person on watch, and I'd just like to know how you handle these encounters. Do you give the sleeping party members disadvantage on their passive perception or anything?

Only forgot that Monty screams the first syllable every time he starts to speak, before Kelly is even finished. Like a big brother that can't take that his smaller brother is talking, and desperately need to pull all the attention back to himself.

Can I just point out the amazing nuances here? Kelly's deadpan and straight delivery, the lip ring, the screen print t-shirt. Monty's gestures, the way he is always looking toward Kelly, the hoody, the nods, the enthusiasm. "Link Below" The intro was spot on. The nicknames. The abrupt and out of sync ending like when they did social distant videos during the last year when they would go "In the dungeon." The only thing I think you missed was Kelly's messy hair and whenever Monty tries to speak before Kelly finishes and catches himself. I caught on right away. This was amazing, and love that it was done as a joke, I really hope they see it and laugh. Sadly I think I was so distracted by the parody I might have to rewatch haha.

@@Warriormon87 I don't think he hates them or any content. He even said in the video description he appreciates everything they do. And they actually balance out powergaming with more flavored less efficient builds too. Even in their tier videos (unless something is irredeemably bad such as the Undying Warlock or the cantrip True Strike) they talk about how some things can be fun to use and play.

Same. I was eating the hell out of a grilled chicken salad and was clueless right up until he reached True Strike. I know True Strike is absolutely useless because I chose it as a Cantrip for my second ever 5E character, and 3rd ever character period. I was an Arcane Trickster, and I never used the spell. Not even once.

My top 5 cantrips: 1) Chill Touch. Necessary for all enemies that regenerate. Always my first cantrip pick. 2) Eldritch Blast. The strongest cantrip, worth grabbing with a 2 level multiclass for Agonizing Invocation or even with magic Initiate. 3) Booming Blade/Green Flame Blade. The choice depends on whether your DM tends to have enemies that try to flee. If so, go for Booming. Both of these are great for any melee mage. 4) Vicious Mockery. Psychic is not a common resistance and being able to do damage while bestowing disadvantage is great. The only downside is that it's a save not an attack, and saves are generally weaker. Still, it's a useful Magic Initiate pick for any build attempting a support role. 5) Guidance. Incredible utility, from carousing to initiative checks. This is useful in almost any situation besides active combat, and worth grabbing and spamming.

I tend to disagree on Chill Touch being that great, but I guess it depends on what monsters your DM uses or homebrews. Using Guidance on initiative rolls also depens on a lot of DM buy-in since your character normally doesn't know in advance that a combat is about to start and thus wouldn't be able to spend 6 seconds casting a spell between noticing the first signs of trouble and the first actions of combat. Also: My #1 cantrip is Mage Hand. The amount of puzzles in pre-written adventures that were straight up solved by casting Mage Hand a few times to pull leavers in trapped rooms etc. is insane.

@@Nr4747 Even against enemies that are resistant to necrotic damage, Chill Touch still prevents them from healing. Such as Vampires. The only time it doesn't work is when the monster has necrotic immunity or if your DM is straight up ignoring the no-regen aspect (which they shouldn't). Besides that it just becomes a necrotic firebolt that is extra effective vs undead, which is good regardless. It's funny that you mention the Guidance thing requiring DM fiat because in my experience that has been the case moreso with Mage Hand and Minor Illusion. Guidance is more ironclad, just cast it on yourself every minute or so in-game and you'll have the initiative bonus. About to open a door? Guidance. About to open a chest which possibly has a monster inside? Guidance. The only time you want to avoid it is when you're actively being stealthy but thats the same with casting any spell.

Firebolt and Spare the Dying are the only cantrips from the list that I would consider taking. Firebolt for obvious (offense) but also Spare the Dying (because sometimes you get those players that play their characters like lemmings- which I have time and time again). Funny video! I was confused at first but a parody makes sense.

The Dungeon Dudes are STRONG advocates of the "tell 'em what you're going to tell 'em, tell 'em, and finally tell 'em what you told 'em" school, so I'm not quite clear where the "sudden ending" meme comes from. Also, bacon? But otherwise pretty spot on.

8:28 of hard laughing. Luke, you absolutely DO NOT such, neither do you Luke. You must have seen many Dungeon Dudes videos, your persiflage is on point. Besides that, the content of the video is...well...game changingly shocking and a real eye opening so I immediately have to create a character with all of these cantrips and get me some bacon.
