Another awesome job picking my friend. I have yet to try and pick one but I'm learning so much from you and the others for when I do get my hands on one.So thanks for that.

I can set my pins picking either way. it also helps if I rotate them as I'm setting it

I said I'd try to show false gates, but I actually don't think that lock had any. It's seen some picking in its day though, that's for sure.

That's an awesome score, ZL! I started off with only one pin, but I'd start with two pins if I had it to do over. That way you can start to develop a feel for the pins when they are in the true gate. If you only start with one, the lock just opens and muffles everything. A little like not feeling the "click" on a sheer line if there is only one pin. I was really amazed at how quickly the skills developed with progressive pinning. It seems impossible at first, but it's really not too long until you'll be able to pick new ones blind. Let me know how it goes, man. Can't wait to see you popping Medies!

Nobody explains exactly what their trying to accomplish while picking difficult locks. What is the sense of watching these Vids?

Picking high security locks is much more about picking strategy than it is about technique. Of course they also require a solid foundation of picking technique, but I assume anyone who is ready for these locks already has that and doesn't need me to walk them through it. Thus, I discuss the strategy... If folks need help with the fundamentals, there are other channels who do a good job teaching them.

Thanks Dean, for your comment and your sub. I actually wrote my reply just before bed and I was tired. I hope it came off as friendly and not anything else. I actually re-wrote it a few times, LOL. Most of these locks really are very much like picking "normal locks" at certain points. The difference is that they have secondary and tertiary mechanisms that are very much unlike anything you'd see in a more conventional lock. One technique that I'm realizing I may not have explained well enough is isolation of the various locking mechanisms. Basically giving yourself the ability to deal with one locking system at a time. I may make an upcoming video about that. Thanks again for your comment. My hope is to make videos that are fun to watch and interesting.

@@tumbl3r Sure! evting is copesthetic. Actually I've been a locksmith for 3yrs mainly just opening vehicles and homes. However, never had the opportunity to work with any security type locks. At this time I'm very interested in learning "this" skill. Wanted to learn most security locks (USA) at the same time. Was searching for these locks on yt. Subbed /w lots of Vids. Not to many explanations on what's "really going on".
