I’m in my mid 40’s and I still play build lego sets. I’ve been collecting lego sets since the 70’s. My first lego set was in 1976 and to this day I still have it. In fact I have all my lego sets from when I was a kid growing up. I don’t collect all of them. Just the ones that interest me only. Nowadays I have maybe about 3000 lego sets. I enjoy building them on my days off from work. I mostly love the trains, houses and building sets. After the sets are build I place the instruction manuals into those magazine cover bags and store them away into my closet. Even the lego boxes are flattened and stored into my closet in over sized plastic bags. Throughout the years lego became a huge hobby of mine. Even the video games I enjoy playing.

I love all these reasons! I feel sorry for adults who don't see the joy in playing with toys. I have lots of fun making stuff with my little niece too with her big old mega blocks. My favorite thing about Lego is all the cool little minifig characters. I've always dreamed of having a house with a Lego room - maybe someday!

I have PTSD as a result of medical trauma involving a heart transplant and being one of the first children ever to have an internal defibrillator. Lego is the best therapy I have every come across. It calms and focuses me. I just wish my parents were more open to the idea of adults playing with Lego. My mom in particular hates them, and reminds me how childish it is.

What I love most about LEGO are the almost infinite number of possibilities. You can give folks the same bricks and each person will create something different! Did you know that 6 2x4 bricks can make over 19 million combinations? To me that is amazing!

I'm 41 and I purchased the awesome Buggati Chiron and Dom's Charger. I recently put the 1992 Claw truck together, and it was a challenging build. I also have the 1995 Supercar, 1994 Hot Rod, 1981 tractor, 1988 Prop Plane, vintage Go Kart, 1989 JCB, and a small Technic dump truck. The way I look at it, is the more complex and time consuming, the better.

So true, Lego is the best toy ever made. My favourite thing about Lego is the tactile way it click together, the slight sound it make you know kinda like stretching plastic when you are disconnecting it and securing it in place..... it gives me a strange sense of peace ✌️

Ever since I was a kid, I loved lego because of how customizable it is. Lego has sets and figures of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, knights, ninjas, pirates, Batman, etc. Even if they don't officially have products you want, you can create them with bricks. There's a service that lets you custom paint figures with any design you want. It looks great for stop-motion animated movies. Most toy companies don't have that level of flexibility. You might have to design your own sets and props from scratch.

Did you see that Voltron set? OMG! That is a MUST BUY. Seriously. You know that was made as a love letter to Voltron fans of old. It's discontinued now and prices are starting to shoot up, so chop chop! Don't miss out! Oh yeah, I'd like to add that I too, am in my 40's. I don't have much for Lego stuff really. I did however pick up that Dodge Challenger Demon/Charger set. It's fantastic and being a fan of the Challenger and Charger, I had to get it. Voltron is up next. With that, I find that assembling Lego bricks is therapeutic, especially in the end with the finished product.

I'm nearly 50 and use Lego for town planning etc and do all kinds of projects, nothing to do with work, I just always loved it and have a passion for demolition and redevelopment or whatever. I also love the collecting of it along with just sorting the pieces and colours. I have that much that sometimes I can feel stressed trying to sort and find places for it around the home. If I'm weird, then I quite enjoy being weird. It's a shame we have to always justify ourselves because some don't like what we like. I could say workers in a car factory are playing with nuts bolts and washers all day long so they should stop, close all the factories and have no transport in the world, no ship or boats, cars or trucks. We could close down the whole planet if we listen to the ignorant. Lego is no different to anything else and is brilliant stuff!. My favourite thing about Lego are the lovely colours along with the noise and that clutching power and the fact that it is only limited by your own imagination. Thanks for the video.

honestly our society feels pretty arbitrary sometimes - if a kid loves photography and continues that as either a hobby or a career in adulthood (nobody judges) - if a kid loves drawing and continues that into adulthood (nobody judges) - but if a kid loves building stuff with legos and continues that into adulthood (all of a sudden failure to grow up) what gives? - if I say I love Pizza or Chocolate (no judgement) - if I say I love Lucky Charms (all of a sudden judgement) - if I say I love Star Wars or Marvel (no judgement) - if I say I love Power Rangers (total judgement)

Yeah I see what your saying but that’s why I did not really like LEGO as a kid . The fun is in the build. I used to like the gi joe toys because most had to be put together after could really be played with . As a adult. I can see some would get really in to it . I like displaying things in my home and having all different kids of things so I plan on a few sets. Love the brick head guys . I thinking after a bit one could take them apart and put them up on eBay and get somthing new with the money .

I agree with all of your reasons for adults using lego, but its really way too simple. Adults should have a more difficult hobby for the reasons you listed, such as caligraphy or engraving. Lego by itself is far too simple. I want to be clear that im not making fun of lego or people who use it, but if you benefit in any way from using lego, try something harder, you will find it far more rewarding in the same ways. My issue is that there is really no room for progression with lego, its follow instructions and goof proof, caligraphy will have challenges that require practice and cumulative skills that build upon eachother. I like what you are saying here, but not for adults.

Lol, you just came up with your own narrow definition of the word "play" for the purpose of denouncing your own invention, without apparently realizing that what you're finding "creepy" is entirely a figment of your imagination. People play instruments and play sports, do those types of play conjure up impressions of creepiness as well?
