A Holocaust survivor's story:
Holocaust survivor, Shlomo Brodi, tells his story of survival during the Holocaust in Hebrew with English subtitles.
As a young boy, 15 years old, he stood in front of the gas chambers and sure death a number of times and survived.

My father came from Torun , which is fairly close to Warsaw . He firstly saw the cattle trucks passing , then soon after , he was taken .He was 14 . They started to beat him , and he knew his end was coming soon . He , and another boy escaped .They hid in trees during the day and travelled by night . He said that one day , an SS officer came to his tree .Looked up , and moved on . The two of them managed to get to France where the underground movement got them to Britain . At 17 , he joined the Polish free army and went back fighting . He had mood swings .Depression .Nightmares until he died .Outbursts of rage and anger at words that could trigger this . We were never allowed to cry as children . I think Shlomo must of had the same . We were never allowed to say that when hungry , we were starving . .When I got to around the same age as he was taken , he started beating me , using his fists . I hated my father , not realizing until much later that he was suffering from P.T.S.D. . I am against all wars . I am for all people , no matter who they are .What religion , colour or anything else that makes them different to me to all be treated the same .With humanity and respect . For this , I am classed as anti Semitic . I love the Jewish people . But I love all people . Having seen my father as he was , and what he has passed onto me . Not being able to sort out a reason why , or why he does or feels like he does , how can I wish that onto another human being .

I experienced the same sort of PTSD reactions with my parents except the physical beatings . Never allowed to complain, mum would have angry outbursts where she’d slap me (didn’t hurt physically just emotionally)and they still drank ersatz coffee etc, dad would randomly go bush (eg when CoVid started) and so, so much fear. We have traveller background. Then I wonder why they had kids!!

I am from Huedin this is creepy to realise that even people from this small town got to suffer the horrors of the holocaust

First cousin of my grandfather was in mathausen as italian prisoner of war, he returned home, he weight 43 kilos, after few months he died. Before he died he said that there is no need to call catholic priest because he has finished with god.

@Rose Angel this is the mentality where it all started in Germany, just the belief system was changed. Every war, every crimes committed on humanity is based on religion. The religion is directly or indirectly connected with every war. Shame on you racist! 😡😡😡

Shame on you for criticising this. You have no idea what you’d do in such a hell. So many people left God. Read Elie Weisels book Night. From I young boy he wanted to be a rabbi but when he saw Auschwitz he denounced God, many did, many did, many didn’t. Do not judge what you don’t understand. Shame on you.

He is a holy hollowcost gas chamber survivor ...he has a bunch of talents , microphone were in the gas Chambers he used to sing Perry como songs to the SS
