The latest scam technique I've run into when buying items, is that the scammer seller says they are on the way to or at the shipping center to build urgency. Another cute one is that they need the $$$ quickly to buy medicine for their kids.

I often see items such as a generator for half the cost of what it is near me and shipping is $14.99 yet is in Florida or NM -- Honda 3000 generator for $1200 when new it cost $2200

I haven't seen all your videos; I'm new to you. I was wondering if you could post a video that specifically walks a newbie step by step. Perhaps it begins with what you need. (Lights for pics, packaging, so they're prepped.) That way that they can pause when needed and start the video again when they reach the next step. Don't know if that is efficient or not.

I used to do film cameras. when I was buying a camera, if the seller did not know the difference between fixed lens and removable lens cameras, I walked away. The best idea is to only buy or sell something you can ask and answer reasonable questions about. I stopped doing internet sales a few years ago, because I could not get the spread between buy and sell to make a profit. if I decide to try it again, it will be if I can see a good enough spread.

Or what about cars/trucks priced too good to be true from sellers claiming they moved out of state, like military move, etc. but they're selling a vehicle that is located near you... or if you look closer, the same vehicle is in another city also... LOL.

I’ve seen so many laptops, watches, phones, and they all say the same message in the photos, “I bought this for my kids but they don’t do school work, send a screenshot of this item to this number and I’ll give it to you for free” not sure what they get out of you sending them a text but it’s very sketch

I really enjoy seeking scammers to troll them. Anytime they think I’m gonna pay them, I dox them and they get tricked into clicking on links to gay porn or feces fetish porn and they get super mad. Anytime you find a scammer. Bully them, harass them, and dox them. Trolling scammers is really funny.

They scammed me after sending bulk items, they said an item didn't work. Then switched labels, stickers, and returned without me verifying, they gave them back the money. I sent them photos, even what their 2 day policy covered. This it did not. They helped the scammer

yeah .. been looking for a car on offerup what a joke when it comes down to asking for a vin number to check the history either i don't get a reply or they try to go around answering the question.. i hate using the contact format via text. i want to call the seller or them call me. the more you talk the more the truth comes out seems there are more scammers out there for selling a car then legit ones

@@FlipManDan well i wish that was true it's been my experience over the last 2 plus weeks the people i have dealt with have been either hiding something about the car or just .. i wonder if it's the car I'm looking for 06 to 09 civic or that I'm in socal or what one guy i asked for the vin he answered.. ok i will get it to you tomorrow.. i waited till 2pm before i asked if he could send it to me.. his answer was ill get it to you when I'm ready.what do you say to that other then no thank you never mind no fricken reply's and I'm polite when talk well text sellers i do ask at some point can i call you or you me then give them my number most of the time no reply i wish Craig's list wasn't dyeing im old school like to ask question's on the phone people seem to be more honest when you talk on the phone.

Many people flip cars off of offer up. They’ll buy cheap and say everything works when it doesn’t for quick profit. They’re hoping you don’t check the car over thoroughly. Best you can do too is report them. If they say everything works and it doesn’t it’s fraud.

Lol just got scammed there was a person selling an oculus quest two and the caption read my newborn baby call this number and you get it free because I just had a baby so I messaged the person she said yeah you just gotta pay me $20 in shipping and when I did my item came eight weeks after I ordered it and also it was just the box

With cars there is a lot of ways to find out the history and car facts, its definitely something you need to research before spending a large sum of money

Why does it matter though if there a scammer or the deal is too good to be true they have a 2 day purchase protection so don't all you have to do is tell offer up you've never received the item and they give you your money back that you paid on it or is it a big process

92% of ads are scam,junk ads....just for research I responded to 41ads in one weekend...no response from 41 so called seller's... offer up sucks!!!

I was asked for my phone number and verify a code sent to my phone. I gave the person the code but I got afraid and reported the person. Can they get into my phone with the code they sent me?

Don’t bother. OfferUp isn’t working now. Your account will only be active for maybe an hour then will become inactive for days if not months. You will have to email their support system and you’ll get a generic response stating a technical issue. Then you’ll be active for a few minutes and then the issue begins all over again. You’re better off trying other selling platforms.

Typos or broken English usually indicates someone from a non-US speaking country is making the post. A TON of the shipping scams are committed by people abroad, so typos are the first red flag (But not the only one to look for!)

Hello thanks for your show on offerup but need your help on offerup i tryed to buy playstation 4 pro but the seller side this accept payment thru Apple Pay or Cash App and offer up credit card payment is not working and she also Said this You don’t have to purchase thru offer up it’s a choice sir sorry I don’t have shipping or payment thru here plus they tax and cards don’t work thru here and she said she is a u s army Soldier

PayPal is fine goods and services. PayPal friends and family no fraud coverage venmo no coverage... offer up shaky... I have one guy zero reviews no pic...and wants venmo or friends and family...claims sons account lol...

Got a message from this "guy" wanting to buy a thing from me i posted months ago, he didnt ask me anything about the product, at all, if they worked "speakers" what size, nothing, only "when can i pick it up, didnt haggle on the price or anything, i went on his page and has no confirmed anything, nothing up for sale, no reviews, nothing at all, messaging continued and now "he" asked me if i have a phone number, ddeffinet pass on this sale
