I don’t know if it’s a Facebook app or what but it seems that Facebook is being inaccurate with my business account…it doesn’t make any sense… yesterday I used my grandma’s phone and tapped the (shop on website) button on my business page to make sure it was working correctly… everything worked and it directed me to my Etsy website so I go to check my page and on my end it’s still showing that I have zero people that has used my Facebook button… which is inaccurate because it should show the exact number… which is still displays zero… 🤔 and then it’s displaying the wrong amount of people that have seen my page in the past 28 days yesterday it displayed 17K and today it’s showing only 13K big difference!!! Very frustrated I don’t understand

I'm a content creator, and my Facebook page has been useless in selling my art, photography, and writing. I am working on simplifying my social media presence. I have wasted WAY too much time on things that don't bring in sales. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

I disagree, since setting up my facebook business page, I have not had to use any other sort of advertising. My leads all come from facebook which leads to word of mouth bookings as well. I run a small fencing business and FB has been transformational for my business. I set up my page about a year ago and regularly post videos of my work etc. I need to add that I used your great channel to guide me through setting up my page ! 👍

That's awesome, congrats! I have worked with many businesses that are doing well with Facebook (including my own). But it is very frustrating for many because the organic reach is so low.

Thank you! You said exactly what I have been thinking. I'm a costume & textile surface designer, spending time creating quality posts isn't worth the ROI. So few people are honest about how effective Social Media is for some businesses, it's not for all of us!

It's tough. I think the key is to use your page in a way that serves you, rather than just running one "because we're supposed to."

What you said in this video made a lot of sense. My wife and I have a luxury villa to let and we thankfully have perhaps 80% of repeats every year and occasionally get a new client. They will represent at least 5000$ in rent. So we have a FB page, a website and a google maps pin that has many visits. It was only after FB told me that I had a grey page that I started looking around to find out what to do. Hopefully, I've stopped my FB business page from being deleted, but FB is certainly not the best in advising us on what to do. In fact, they are pathetically bad at it. Much main objection to FB with their business side it's that they do not cater for small businesses that do not need multiple things done to get clients. I bet there are more "small" businesses than big ones but FB has really ignored us.

Great video, Jerry. I was surprised that you didn't mention the benefits of building an engaged Facebook Group as an alternative to trying to grow a brand's Page. Obviously, this won't be appropriate or practical for some brands but Groups provide a great opportunity for companies to nurture genuine engagement through target communities.

Your download link shows a 404 error message. I have 45K followers on Fbook bus page. ONLY 20 viewers tune into my live videos. After ending the video. there's at least 2000 ppl who viewed it. can you tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

So if not Facebook for advertising, then what? We have to let people know about our business. I've tried local billboards for my photography and local magazines, keeping up with my website, blogs, and keywords nothing works anymore. My small business is suffering, and I may have to look for a part-time job, which is devastating because of my hard work. I'm seeing a million and one businesses claiming they can help with this and that. How are you any different from the other million social media digital companies? Who does small business trust anymore?

Great advice. Too often social media advisors have the To-a-hammer-everything-is-a-nail perspective regarding social media. They won't even admit there are situations where social media isn't the answer.

What about posting to your business page and sharing it to your personal profile. Is that worth it? Or pretty much depends on if it's bringing you clients?

Excellent question Charlene. Sharing will always benefit the place you originally posted it more than the place you shared it. At the same time if you share it and no one engages, I believe that can hurt the reach back on your page. If you are going to share to your personal profile, I recommend adding a caption at the top that makes it personal for your friends and family.

Yes - but I am runnign an etsy store geared toward dog lovers - there are several dog groups I could market to but they don't allow advertising in their group - how do I overcome that?

My Facebook page has more than 18k likes but it seems my posts are not showing to people!! It doesn't reach people when Im pretty sure i have lots of them. This is frustrating, so please help.

As the video explained, the average business page only reaches about 1% of the followers it has. Beyond that, you can spend money to reach more of them. Alternatively it's about posting content they want to engage with. More engagement = more reach.

Hey Alex. It does sound like your internet is simply disconnecting (aka going offline) so you just need to reconnect to the internet whenever it says this. That should fix the problem.

Howdy Jerry its been a while since I last tuned in thanks to life, so how topical FB business pages, I tell you there is only 1 constant about FB & that is that nothing is constant, if feels like every time i log on & go to do something on the business page its changed again, why the hell can't they just leave it the hell alone & stop changing ( making it harder ) for business users, last night was the 1st time I've been forced to use the new business suite or what ever it is called for scheduling & what a disaster I spent close on 4 hours just trying to do a basic post with a few pictures, it used to be easy once apon a time now its a bloody disaster. The main thing that we use FB for is to show case our work & to direct new & or potential clients to look at certin sections similar to the type of work to what they are considering in the way of albums. Just out of interest does your company do FB posts for other compsnies & if so what do you charge?. Rgs Wayne.

Sorry it has been so frustrating. Facebook changes things with the intention of them becoming better, but that's not always the case as you've found. My company does not do social media work for other companies, but many business owners and companies have been able to build systems and create better posts using Five Minute Social Academy.
