It's about time someone made the headunit as close to a DSP as possible. They could also eliminate the built-in amp and add more rca channels and higher output voltage. Seems like that would be the evolution of headunits

I owned a pioneer stereo in my car for probably about seven years, and I finally bought an alpine and I can say my Alpine was tremendously better. Sound quality way crisper I was amazed plus the Bluetooth works incredibly easy with my iPhone 14 connecting to my alpine . connecting with the pioneer. It always gave me trouble trying to connect to the Bluetooth with my iPhone.I got some alpine R series front speakers with a separate Tweeter and they sound amazing

Those new Halo headunits are ALMOST perfect. We just need an optional digital output (with variable volume control), and the ability to tune one of Alpine's many DSP's directly from the Halo screen.

Alpine had the best cd players. The laser processors would work with scratched disc. Thats how I tested them. They also had 4volt low output lines. Best for amplifier efficiency

Around a decade ago Alpine released the PDX-F4, 150Wx4 into 4 ohms, and the PDX-M12, 1200Wx1 into 4 ohms, both with all connections on one side of the amp, making them perfect for below-seat installation. No-one else made amps that produced so much power in so little space. And still today no-one seems to do it. Not even Alpine :-(. I was looking for replacements for my two PDX amps as after 10 years of heavy use they have developed some "issues", and was surprised to see that I'm basically looking for unobtanium....

I’ve already bought two ilx f509s . Came from KENWOOD dnx1057 .These are great . Alpine dropped the ball with the 409 but made great strides with these 509s . And priced very reasonable. And sound a lot better than the KENWOOD to me

Back in the mid eighties and early 90’s, alpine was top notch!! I still have my alpine pullout radio!! Back in 92, I paid $600!!! But today’s products look cheap and lackluster. When compared to sundown and DD Audio, Alpine has been MIA…. I was an Alpine nut back in the day. But I haven’t found anything worth buying from Alpine these days.

Looking at this halo knob, I'm amazed that no one makes a volume knob that operates through the steering wheel control input. That is the problem with every current radio: you either get a crappy lcd display and a volume knob, or you get a nice display and crappy volume buttons.

Wow I really like those twist on/off beaty rings on the Type R subwoofers. Nice touch. I want to know the RMS rating on them since he said they are new and improved because the old ones already slammed and sounded great. Also, those new head units are unbelievable. Everything from the dual control mountable wireless bass knob (No More Cat5 cords) to it being packed with adjustable features to it even having real time voltage monitoring (which is genius by the way). I have always went with pioneer on every aftermarket head unit I have ever run if I wasn't running stock with a LOC but I think after seeing this Alpine has fully won me over (Well see tho I wanna see some pricing lmao). most people doesn't know enough to set the equalizer and its a waist of time. they should still have the fast options of setting the EQ and vocal setting like, jazz, rock, vocal, stadium... I still love my pioneer premium P-99 from the 90's.

I’m running ILX-F309 in my car… is the new 9” model any better than F309? One gripe i have is… alpine never had an update for the system in 4 years its been out. I’d like to be able to change colors of LED buttons to match the rest of the interior. Pioneer and Kenwood have that ability.

Can somebody teach me ? O.k all this hardware is full of bling bling but….all I want is direct source for my music. My Apple Music lossless with a dragonfly dac ( a portable impressive digital to analog converter )to a aux. Input. It just doesn’t bother me I want to bypass any head unit as it messes my quality. Am I wrong ? And also can you keep your original audio head unit and install another head unit with a bypass ? I have in mind to enjoy an excellent system but after the véhicule could be sold as an original. Thanks !

And Alpine drops the ball, just like Pioneer and Kenwood. They had such a nice bluetooth controller, yet it has no scroll functionality. People that have their music in a USB or SD have a hard time to scroll through music while driving, still a pain at the stop light to scroll using the touch screen, let us use the knob to scroll through songs in the folders of the USB or SD.

Had a Alpine INE-W611D fitted to my Vw California, really disappointed in it cannot scroll through my Ip music ,albums and playlist ,and help from Alpine is non exsistant ,sorry i bought it 😢

Who is Alpine talking to?!! I'm a huge fan of big juicy speakers but my days of cutting in juicy speakers are behind me i think. We want 500w 6x8 that fit. That's not the half of it...WE ABSOLUTELY WANT CD/DVD capability....even a mind blowing changer is not outta the question...seriously add more like radar and dash cam connections...a car alarm with feedback to the fob connections....

How do 1k+ headunits not have digital outs? Who exactly do they think is going to be the primary buyer for such expensive headunits? It seems like a power user would be looking for that.

Running my IVA-D310 and PXA-H701 until Alpine does a Video double din head with processor control. Better more compact amplifiers in the X or R Line etc. Could we also please have back surround capability as well. That beeping would drive me nuts
