We look at the new Fivics Skadi riser. We discuss what is new and how it is different to other recurve risers on the market. I setup the Skadi riser and shoot it at 18 metres to see how it compares. www.archeryshop.com.au/collec...

Good Luck with the new bow!

The cracking sound on the first shot is generally caused by the clearcoat on the limb forks catching on the limb bolt. The first shot will move it firmly against the underside of the limb bolt. It generally doesn't happen on well-used limbs where the clearcoat has worn slightly. I pull the sting back 3-4" after I string it and let it go, and that usually sets the limb and I don't get that noise. (Or you can rub some sting wax on the inside of the fork.)

one thing that's handy about removable arrow rest plates is being able to swap them out for different arrow sizes (like my partner who shoots 3.2mm outdoor; but 7mm shafts indoors).

They're slow as hell for delivering limbs though, been waiting since January for skadi TX limbs now 😂

Steve, ever shoot after market grips?

Do you have any thoughts on the Skadi in 27"? I'm currently using Argon X 25", which I've been happy with, but due to draw length, I should be 27+70. The similar riser weight (Argon 25": 1330g; Skadi 27": 1340g) is another plus for me.

Where is the pivot point located on that rizer?

I think you don't need much of a reason to buy a new bow, like most of us.

Why does the arrow have to bend around the bow? The riser is center shot
@Australian_Made4 ай бұрын
Due to finger release having a big INFLUENCE !!
@lordcarnorjax85994 ай бұрын
The force from the limbs on release makes the arrow flex. Search for videos archers pardox slo mo and you'll see it. Weiner Beiter have a good 18 second video of it.

Did it not "crack" because you _let down_ on your first shot?...
@Australian_Made4 ай бұрын
nah, that doesn't take it away, UNFORTUNATELY. 😭

H.E.L.P. ⚠ Has ANYONE got good solid EXPERIENCE comparing HALO to Powergrip to Angel ASB CENTRE SERVING?
@mrnice7524 ай бұрын
I make strings and all of those are good. Halo and Angel ASB are very slick, and super hard wearing. Perfect for split finger shooting but I find it a little slippery for 3 under and string walking. Powergrip is great too, not too slick so you get a solid hook easily even with a deep crawl, wears a little quicker. I really like 62XS for string walking too, grips better than Halo/ASB but slicker than Powergrip. They all work great, it's more about what you like the feel of.

The prices are getting outrageous. You can get a decent target compound for well under $2k, and those are complete bows and far more complex.
@ScottPankhurst4 ай бұрын
tell me about it. recurve limbs are complex to make, but the price of a riser is off scale compared to a compound now.
