Excellent tip. I completely removed the motor with removing the two 10 mm bolds on the motor. So I could blow it with some compressed air.

It nearly as long to reset the F21 display than it did to change the brushes, but with your help and guidance I got there in the end. Thanks for posting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Unfortunately I did take the motor off before I saw your video but I did need to revisit the brushes as there was one with an imperfect contract! 👍Thanks for the video. Did this on my Bosch Exxcel 7 and it worked. I got an F-63 after replacing the brushes, but was able to clear that using the same reset process. Had to do it a few times. The bearings are getting a bit noisy these days, but this should keep it going a while longer. Not looking forward to getting a new, less DIY friendly machine, when this one finally dies.

Many thanks for your very clear video. Maybe you can show ‘putting the brushes the right way’ a little bit clearly and in slow Motion. We were not completely sure that we put them in de right way. There was some noise in the beginning but that dissapeared.

Really useful thank you but god knows how you did the second brush one handed with a glove and blind in about 10 seconds, very impressive. It took me about 2 hours and after that my neck, back and arms were killing me. But I got it done.

A tip from my own experience doing this job for the first time. Take the rear panel off when replacing the second set of bushes as it's impossible to see otherwise.

Thanks for the video, it was a great help for me (from Belgium). The first part was relatively easy, but as exspected not the second part. But I have a little trick! You can use the two holes above to look trough, then you see more or less what you are doing. But anyway the cost for me was 20 euro (+/- 20 usd). Lets hope the machine will work a bit longer (is already 14 years..😊)!

Elsewhere, the reset he does at 16:30 is described as: "Turn the dial to 6 o'clock, press and hold the RPM button, wait two seconds, turn the dial to 7 o'clock, wait two more seconds, release the button, turn it off". This worked for me, on our Bosch MAXX 7kg.

dont suppose you could help me before i take a pick axe to my washer!!!, ive got a bosch excell washer drier , for months the washer parts , but the drier part most the time stops beetween 5 and 15 mins of being on , now the washer part is playing up alot and stopping after few mins , sometimes the screen goes blank and just shows backlight untill i reset it and thats when it sometimes show f21 on the screen is this fix the cure for mine or is it time to scrap it

02:40 - Hang on - how did you open up the underside of the washing machine? The underside of my Avantixx is covered by a metal plate. I've removed four bolt/floor-support things, but I don't seem any closer to removing this plate. Help.

I did the reset before changing the brushes as I thought the pump was blocked. I ran it again and then it tripped the RCB. I replaced the brushes but it would not run. It was showing door opened. But it was closed. I took out the PCB board and I could see a track that was connected to the door switch was melted off the board. I soldered wire over the track and it fixed it. I would have thought it should have blown a fuse before the track melted. Anyway don't try to reset the error before changing the brushes. Thanks for the video it was very helpful.

Hey, thanks for the tip. I don't have f21 problem but my buttons are all messed up: rpm doesn't work, delay activates eco perfect mode, and water plus is start/stop now. I wonder if the reset would help as removing the whole electronic board with a new one is definitely not worth it. Have you seen anything like this?

My Bosche Avantixx is giving an E21 instead of F21. The drum is no longer rotating. Could it also be a case of motor brushes?

Hi there, just wanted to ask if you can tell me if my machine is now totally finished or not. My husband and I found your video and followed the directions and put in the two new carbon brushes, struggled to reset the machine but eventually did and the machine has been working well for about three weeks. I want to thank you so much for that! Now, she seems to have stopped after an imbalance and when O turned her off the F21 came up again. We checked to make sure the brushes were still in securely and they were so plugged her in and reset her and tried a short 15 minute cycle, she filled and then as she started he cycle there was a bit of noise, like a sand rubbing around the drum and the drum just stopped moving and it just fills and empties and then stops and again when I turned it off, the code F21 came up, so reset to try again and the same thing happened. I know she’s an old girl but wanted to see if you had any suggestions before we consider her life is gone. Thank you in advance for any advice, kindest regards, Bek 😀
