I struggled so much with notepad++ and hex plugin when this was the right way all along. i used GameManager to save my game data, i restored the data, i've put the patcher in the documents folder, double click, "y" and done.. just like that. thank you for your video and thanks to the author!

its 2021 and this trick still works. Reinstalled windows after backing up my files and got corrupt save ingame. I guess Absalom had reach beyond the game. I tried this fix and it worked!!

Guys, this works fine. Any hex editor will do, I used HxD (the first freeware one that popped up on google search). If anyone is having problems, like the files won't save, make sure you save to a directory (like temp) that is not protected, and then copy them back where they belong. You also have to make sure you're copying from a fresh save off the current copy of Ds2 you're going to be working with. And when you copy in the hex editor, ONLY COPY from Row 20, Column F, to Row 30 Column 4. And then pasting in the identical spot in your old saves to update them. Also, in order for this to work properly, you have to make sure you're using the same exact install and version of the game as your old saves. For instance, if your original saves were from the original Skidrow release, but then you're trying to put them in Skidrow release with update 4, for instance, this probably won't work (especially if you have any DLC save data not included in the original Skidrow release of the game). To get around this, delete your game install and reinstall just the original skidrow release, USE THIS FIX FOR YOUR SAVES, and once they're working THEN you can install update 4 (or a DLC pack, etc.).

After installing a DLC pack, i can't restore old backups, even if i remove every file the game still recognize it's last save point (mean the beggining of the game). I have 3 save files, no one works, it doesn't even say that it's corrupted. any idea ?

To paste save you have to close the game and right click choose Administrator.

Yes you can. First backup all your saving. Next delete ols saves or your saves and put the saves of your friend in a) C://users/nameusers/My Documents/Mygames/Darksiders 2/English(or the language you have the game) b) C:\Users\username\AppData/Local\SKIDROW(and i have the save in the folder -- 50650\Storage) and it should work. If not work you should make like in the tutorial. Make new save and replace the cod to the friend save.

Hi , I moving game from one HDD to second HDD without installation on game.Start game its working but save data its corrupt from dssave0 and dssave4.Another save data dssave1 and dssave5 work.Make new installation on game and not working save 0 and 4 ,do everything on video and still not work.

After downloading update 3 skidrow my save doesnt work and i tried your method but the code that you copied in the video are not same in my save it had some different value and i also tried but save game found and when i try to load its says that make sure all dlc are available in your computer and doesnt load any ideas or help it will save my 23 hours of game play...plz plz..

You must follow the steps for each save you have. If you have it saves in 2,3 slots, you must folow the steps for each steps. Of course you must have all the saves. If you have saves in 2 slots, then you must have 4 saves. Do the steps for all for. Dont forget tu name each save like there was.

I had played the game with deathinitive edition..I reached at the lostlight part and then my game gets stop...I've restarted the game several time..but it gets stop when ever he gets in lostlight..I uninstalled the game and then redownloaded and installed it..Replaced my old gameplay save file...but it won't catchup my last save game..It says to restart the game..What should I do.!?

Thank you! Few notes to add: I used the slot 2, so for me the files I had to fixed were not dssave0 and 4, but 1 and 5 instead. For me the cells to modify had the same content in both save 1 and 5. I created a new save, and noticed, that the only difference in the aforementioned values between the old and the new files was that on address 33 I had 01, and the correct value (the value in the newly created file) was 00. I didn't even bother copying, just changed the 01 into 00. Wonder what that bit stands for. Is it a "Fuck you!" bit? And when Darksiders 2 starts it evaluates the value of that bit: if(FuckYouBit == 1){YourSaveGame.Corrupt();}

You are copying this data FROM: New save, TO: Old save, THEN: replacing all new saves with your old backup saves that now have the corruption fixed.

Ali Ben Save your olds savings in another place on your pc then use a program remover to remove/Desinstall the game. Then install the game and the update and then copy your olds savings like in the video. Success and Regards
