Fix Flickering Infotainment Display on Honda CRV 2017 and up

In this video I’m going to show you how to fix your flickering display on your Honda CRV 2017 and up. I had the same problem where my Honda CRV display was flickering when I was driving. I brought my Honda CRV to the Honda dealer. All they did was reset the display by going into the settings on the display.
But my problem was still happening from time to time after the reset. One time the display froze for three minutes and finally restarted while I was driving. This could be due to the USB cable or an electrical circuit inside. But if the problem is still happening after you reset the display you could bring your car to the Honda dealership and explain that you already reset it and the problem still persists.

Wow, thank you for this info. I lost my SIRIUSXM channel and was unable to retrieve it although all other media channels seemed to work. I've researched the (slim and confusing) manual, had SiriusXM attempt to activate the channel, called the original dealership (that's five hours or more away from where I live), spoke to my regular auto mechanic who was unfamiliar with the problem not having many new CR-V's in our area as well as called the Honda hotline. Not one suggested going to factory reset although the universal response was to push the on-off button for five seconds to reset...that obviously did not work. Your video did in just a few minutes. Thanks, again.

This Works!! Just don't freak out when you see the anti-theft notification after resetting. As another commenter wrote, once you reset the system to factory settings, after a minute or so, a message will be displayed that you have to turn on the anti-theft system by holding down the power button (the volume knob on the display). Push and hold this button for more than 2 seconds and you're set.

I’ve noticed with my wife’s crv it’s tends to only happen while having cellphones paired up via Bluetooth to the device. If you disconnect the phone it’s rarely ever happens.

They say at the Honda Bountiful in Utah there is a software up date available at the cost of $130.00 that will fix the computer blinking etc issues. I will see this had been a big problem

This reset wont work. Its a flaw in the touch screen. When there is hot sun on it the display it starts to flip out

He is guessing. I've already gone through all the steps. Take it to the dealer. There's a class action lawsuit filed back in late 2019.

No, it doesn't work. Its a temporary fix. I've already gone through the procedure. They have to update the software or replace the display.

Another issue, yes. I have a 2019 CRV EX-L, and my dipstick for oil is always above the line. I know about the leaking fuel.. and I am only able to mitigate it by using 91 or 93 octane fuel.

The info given is not quite enough. After resetting the system to factory settings and after a minute or so, a message will be displayed that you have to turn on the anti-theft system by holding down the power button. What power button? It's not addressed in the user's manual. After some experimenting, I found the power button to be the small audio/volume button located ON the display screen itself. Push and hold this button for more than 2 secs. The display will then come alive.

Mine glitches so bad it’s mostly black, it’s too messed up to even navigate. Had a battery on its way out and when I hit a small bump in the road it just started going out

Just had elderly parents 2017 crv in for second time for touchscreen flickering . Their gonna replace touchscreen face next week. Did u ever get resolve on yours? And what fixed it?

My problem is NOT flickering. Mine is that all lights came on dashboard with Problems! AWD problem, Brake system problem, there are 10 problem items on the dashboard. I guess, I'll take in to dealer.. 2017 crv awd ex😡

@@lilsmart805 same here. All my lights are on and safety features not on. I had newborn babies, not good to not have them on. Did you get this problem fixed? If so how much did it cost you?

@@djbujub nothing! Luckily I bought that insurance up to 120,000 miles. Otherwise, it would had been $1,300 out of pocket. It's a design defect causing my fuel injectors to be replaced... I will be selling this car, this year and getting a Kia Nero hybrid😁😁🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Me too. Same issues. I have a 2017 CR-V Touring. All lights come on dashboard randomly for no reason. Started doing this recently a little over 3 years after owning the vehicle. Never had a issue before. And my touchscreen flickers and beeps randomly while driving. I have to stop and shut off the car to correct it. I can't wait to see what the dealer says. They better not charge me. It seems like a widespread issue defective that's Honda's fault. I don't think my next vehicle I will be purchasing another Honda again.

I had same issues & had the ins as well thank goodness. This is my 2nd screen & now the screen is TOTALLY OUT & my usb ports neither one work!

Not yet, been dealing with it for two years now. Arsenal l several Class Action lawsuits are out there for it, but no permanent fixes yet.

Had TSB #19-066 update done to our CRV, but two months later, a new display problem, with constant "beeping" from the display (which also "locks up" the screen) while driving. Had to pull off the road and turn off the vehicle to get the noise to stop. Someone suggested that I contact NCDS to file a complaint and meet with Honda execs for arbitration. Has anyone else done this?

Great info. Perhaps in your next video you could practice what you are going to say. In this video, info was repeated many times making the video at least twice as long as was needed.
