does one have to do this whole process everytime they connect to a remote repo? is it necessary to upload a NEW public key on github everytime one needs to clone or push or pull code?

Is it possible to change the directory /c/users/olga/.ssh/id_rsa to d/programs/dev/.ssh/id_rsa in the git bash console??(could this be a bug later?) I keep everything on D drive because if something happens to the computer, everything will be saved@@cameronmcnz

This doesn't help me when I'm trying to clone repo by using Salt. I get that permission denied error though I have my own public key in the github. Cloning without Salt works fine but with Salt I get this error. I'm currently trying to build Salt state that clones my important repos on the new machine.

Only Jesus can save. But I doubt Jesus can configure an SSH key for GitHub, so we've got that on Him. Glad I could help!

do a 'git branch -a' What are your local branches named? Master or main? What is the name of the branches on the server? Make sure they match up.

I believe under the user's home directory in windows and Linux/Ubuntu. The folders are hidden I believe, so make sure you've made hidden folders visible. If you do the command with sudo it might go under the root account, which isn't good.
