Worked like a charm (on the first try) on my HP 8560P. Thanks for explaining it nice a slow unlike like some speed demons out there where there's no audio explanations and all you see is a cursor at warp speed. I did subscribe and will keep you in mind. Thanks again.

Awesome! After deleting the default driver and then restarting my HP ProBook, the Synaptics driver just appeared as a biometric device without me ever downloading it. It didn't even go through the install process and it NOT a hidden device. My fingerprints are now loaded. Thank you SO much!

It freaking worked!!!!!! Thanks so much! I have an HP Pavilion dv6 and I have literally never used the fingerprint sensor since it was updated from windows 7 to windows 10. While the steps didn't work as smoothly as they did in your video it does work!! What was happening to me was that when I uninstalled the driver it would just reinstall every time I restarted the computer or let it sit for a few minutes, so I had to do some research and I found out that I had to install one of microsoft's tools called hide or show windows updates and once I hid the update that it detected I was able to uninstall the driver completely and install the new one. Then all I had to do was install the driver then go to the windows update and security settings and check for updates and after it installed an update to the driver it worked with windows hello! Funnily enough, this 9 year old laptop has a better fingerprint sensor than my 3 year old phone! XD

Thanks for this straightforward solution! The only difference was that the Synaptics fingerprint driver was installed automatically and the "003f" variant was the default.
