so i was having an issue running elder kings 2 right so i did this now it is showing up in the launcher finally buuuuttttt it says the path in this mods descriptor is invalid or does not exist 😭 wtf man i just want to play the awesome mods of this game but i cant get it work for shit can u please help if you see this?

Something is wrong with your descriptor.mod file. Did you put it in the documents/paradox/ck3/mods folder? It needs to be taken out of the downloaded folder, then add the path line. I can always help you quicker if you send me a pm on Discord. I can also rebuild and send a descriptor file for you through discord. I'll get you up and running for sure!

@@this-nerd ty for the reply bro but i gave up and decided to buy the game again on steam i think the issue is game pass puts the path through one drive and that's what was causing the issue, because i made sure to put the path as it was but it just did not want to work at all.

hey @ThisNerd. i'm really struggling out here. Can you help me? i downloaded the mod, version is the same as the game version. But when i Open dowser.exe an error pops up saying "Steam runtime communication error" and gives me two choices, to 'ignore' or 'Exit'. i ignore and enable the mod. then i run the game but the game runs as the base game. Can you please help me? i'm struggling with this.

it crashes everytime i launch the game. It keeps loading with the AGOT images in the loading screen but after like 2-3 minutes the game crashes in the loading screen. is there a way to fix it?

Is your mod version matched to the game version? If so, try a clean install of the game.

Heyy man, do you know how to change the version of the ck3 in paradox? I don´t have it on steam, and the AGOT mod that i´ve installed its not compatible with the 1.9.0.2 (lance). Or maybe the mod have a version of itself that works with the 1.9.0.2 (Lance) verison of the game, but i just can't find it.

It will be in your CK3 root folder. If you don't have it then you need to go to the Launcher folder wherever your CK3 installed location is.

hey bro, i have a problem, once i tried to open the dowser it says : We were unable to parse the launcher settings file. Settings/distPlatform be equal to one of allowed values. Make sure you have the valid configuration and try again.

Where did you download the mod from? There should at least be a descriptor.mod file, or else it won't work.

I've followed this but no matter what version of the mod I download it tells me it doesn't match my version of the game. My version is 1.12.1 (Scythe). The closest I've gotten to getting it to work was by manually changing the version in the mod file when I added the path but it crashes on the screen with the girl in the boat. I've downloaded 4 or 5 versions from Nexus mods but none of them match.

You'll have to update to 1.12.3. Go to cs.rin.ru and search Crusader Kings 3, there is an updater from 1.12.3. Or if you join my Discord I have the file there also.

Your file path sounds like it is not correct. Are you putting the mods in documents/paradox/ck3/mod? Have you taken the descriptor.mod file out of the downloaded folder and put it into that same path, documents/paradox/ck3/mod?

Yeah most mods are still at 1.8.2. It's going to take a while to get updates for mods with all the added stuff in the game.

@@ninjacat8659 This is a problem a lot of people are having. Make sure your decriptor.mod file is in the documents/paradox/ck3/mod folder. Open that .mod file with notepad and add the line path="mod/[the name of the Asia Expansion folder]" Let me know if it doesn't work! @@ninjacat8659 Nice! I'm glad you got it! The nexus mod manager is easy but it doesn't work for a lot of under rated games. If you end up coming across a mod that launches vanilla in the future and the paradox manager doesn't work you can try the method I gave you. 😁

What version of AGOT are you playing? This was a noted effect of older versions like 1.0. Also, have you checked the error log? I know there is an ongoing issue with something regarding NPC's trying to do something diplomatic. 🤣

You'll have to get the crack from somewhere that has the cracked launcher included. I suggest FitGirl, then use the download launcher option in the installer.

You may not have dowser on Gamepass. You will need to move the mods folder from OneDrive to local and it should work. Just open one drive and exclude the mods folder from backing up to OneDrive.

I don't think we will see a House of the Dragon mod, since we have AGOT. But you can add a few mods to AGOT make it interesting, like Dragons of Valyria and Armies of Westeros.

for the past 2 days i have tried literally everything i can and this mod just will not work edit: after uninstalling the game and deleting all of my ck3 files including saves, reinstalling the game and also starting the game with only the agot mod enabled and nothing else it finally works (and now i dont even feel like palying the game anymore 😩)

I completely feel you! I'm glad you got it to work though. But you are right this game is so difficult and by the time you get it to work, you don't want to play it. I've reinstalled this game over 30 times, it gets bad with updates also. Hopefully in a few days or so you will get the energy back to play it, because AGOT is a great experience. 😁

There is something missing. The file path is not reading right. Are you adding "path=mods/AGOT" exactly? It has to be exactly like that, sometimes it will change to C:/Documents/Paradox/mods, if it did change it back. If you go to my Discord in the description, upload your .mod file and I can edit it for you 😁

Great clip I downloaded King's court for my CK3 and since then CK3 keeps crashing ( console) Any idea on how to fix it w/o uninstalling king's court?

I'll be honest I suck with console, but I'll take a shot. Are the versions matching, like the mod is built for the version you are using? I know for PC the descriptor.mod file is an issue, maybe it's the same for console. With that you have to take the descriptor.mod file from the Kings Court folder and place it in the .../CK3/mod folder. I have no idea what that is for console. Another fault is the descriptor.mod file needs to be opened in Notepad and add the line "path=mod/[King'sCourt folder name]" Those are my first guesses, if nothing works you can join my Discord in the description and I will help you a lot quicker there. I'll try my hardest to get it figured out for you though! 😁

It would be the same process. Just move your files to documents/paradox/ck3/mods take out your descriptor.mod from the downloaded folder and put it in the same mods folder. Then open the descriptor.mod file and add path="mods/[name of mod folder]" Let me know if you still can't figure it out! 😁

@@this-nerd might be the issue, I got the latest CK3 from fitgirl and the elder kings 2 mod from skymods. I was receiving the same error trying to boot up unmodded vanilla until I re-downloaded but now it's just still going to vanilla when selecting the playset

@@Aegis--- Vanilla launches mean the file path is not correct. You need to move the descriptor.mod file into documents/paradox/ck3/mod folder and add the line path="mod/[the name of your EK2 folder]" to the descriptor.mod using notepad.

You need to extract the downloaded mod to the mods folder. Make sure it's a folder, so don't dump all contents from the mod folder in there. It should be like mods/AGOT

That usually means you have to reinstall CK3. It sucks, but it's happened to me 100 times.

You can mod xbox 1, but you need a modded console. They were supposed to bring mods to stock console with paradox mod menu, but for now it only works on Cities 2.

Did you take the decriptor.mod file out and place it in documents/paradox/ck3/mods? Also make sure you add the line to the descriptor.mod file path="mods/[name of your mod folder]" using notepad

Did you update the descriptor.mod and add the line path="mods/AGOT"? And did you move the descriptor to documents/paradox/ck3/mods? There is probably a syntax error if the descriptor is throwing an error.

yup still didn't work for some odd reason. i did every step in the tutorial and it still launched without the mods. i tried installing the mass demand conversion mod and did the stepts exactly as you said it but it still didn't work. even the pathway from the .mod file got autocorrected to the right pathway. i don't know if this is a problem with the steps that i'm doing, or if it's the mod that doesn't work. very frustrating nevertheless. edit: tried doing it with the "highlander immortal" mod and that worked. seems liek it was a problem with the mass demand convertsion mod. you seriously need more likes for this man!
