This video should have way more likes. Thank you for helping me to put my mind at ease. Like someone else in the comments I paid a huge amount of money, try $320! Because the salon had amazing IG pictures and this stylist seemed really on her game. Unfortunately, she was so hell-bent in her ego and doing things her way and her methods but she didn’t listen. The highlights were fine but then she did a toner and I told her I didn’t want it and she did it anyhow. Now I have dark almost brown hair when I went in with medium blonde and wanted to lift at a level. So I will try the clarifying shampoo because even though the salon has offered for me to come in, I don’t trust her and the level of awkwardness and bad feelings already , so not worth it.

Same I’ll rather take the loss than go see their sour face because after they mess up they still get mad lol it’s ridiculous Anyway I used the clarifying shampoo and it got rid of it I would leave it on in the shower do everything else shave brush teeth ect and wash it off last and after a few washes it looked better

This exact thing just happened to me too. Trying to fix the dark tone now. I am so tired of this. The color I am describing and showing references is absolutely nothing like what I got from a colorist. The toner covered up ALL of my highlights, all of them. I literally got an allover 1 dimension color because of the toner.

I was bronde and Demi perm 7A made my hair so dark! Then I used a clarifying shampoo and used wella t18 toner and it’s STILL dark, but a lighter dark. Like am ash brown. Idk what to do smh. Even if I do a bleach bath, idk how else to tone it 😭 my highlighted roots are not yellow tho. They’re orange like level 6.5. The last foot is yellow. Either way, it’s all dark now

@@tanyaodegova1285 get a Malibu CPR packet and it will take that toner off right away! But will leave you with your hairs natural state so if it’s a level 7 blonde it will take the tone off so you will still have brass but if it was lifted high enough I think you’ll be fine!

Regular shampoo, then a purple hair mask with added toning drops to make it more pigmented. Better for the hair .

If you don’t like too brassy or you don’t like too good and warm. Make sure your next toner(once you taken the colour you don’t want out and are left with blonde) make sure you use a toner that has GOLD ASH in it. A combination of both! Some toners are just strictly gold and some strictly ash. These are made because most hair is too much of one colour. If your hair is too gold, add some ash but with that ash make sure ash and Gold! It keeps its brightness ! .31 / .13 👈this is the formula and depending the level you are choose that. For example 7.31 or 7.13 or 8.13 8.12 8.23 Al of these still have ash and gold.

I used blueblack dye in shampoo to tone my brassy brown hair and i left it in too long. My hair is now a little too dark. Can I just shampoo it out overtime and go in the sun? I was also thinking of using an ash dark blonde dye.

If you don’t mind the colour right now, best thing to do is slowly let the “stain” rinse out. It’ll rinse out each time you wash your hair. If it’s a little too dark, you can try these methods I mentioned here! Clarifying shampoo and so on ❤️

Will the color remover work months later? My hair is still gray after trying to wash out a salon toner that was used over 2 months ago. What is the brand of the Color remover displayed in your video?

You always want to spread out when removing colour on your hair, typically at least give it a week for the cuticles to close and not be so damaging. But of course if your desperate, you can continue to do it as you wish! I wouldn’t recommend it for the integrity of the hair, it might fall or break off.

Hey! I’ve tried a bunch of different kinds but the one I found most hydrating along with clarifying was Davines. It is a brand that has active ingredients and is much softer on the hair. You can only find them in certain salons, as they cater to the bigger salon businesses! But Davines all the way👌

So I added a toner and some pieces turned Greyish ... I want to turn them back golden blonde !? After clarifying if the Grey comes out what colour could I use to put back the blonde ?!

You can use a golden blonde toner! (This will actually lock in the colour. Toners help close the cuticles) . Which many brands have different number formulations but anything that says gold, or 7.3,7,30,7.03,8.31 anything in that range!

My problem is my hair turned golden blonde at the root. I tried to fix with color. Now I have golden blonde roots with ugly gray straps. I tried purple shampoo. Still didn't work

I went in for highlights and I am going in some gray, but she usually highlights and then a slight toner, so I can see the highlights. This time it ALL looked grey. I don’t like it, she said I could come back tues, til then she sad if I wanted to wash with dawn and that seems too abrasive, was thinking I have clarifying shampoo, think I’ll try that. But it’s 100+ so she should fix it.

100% She should fix it ! I'm sorry to hear that! I dont know why she told you to come in another time. At the salon, we use something called colour remover, its not a bleach but its like a bleach, it only targets the toner rather than the normal hair. It'll remove the toner that took too grey. Ask for a "colour remover to get rid of some of the toner"

This has been happening everytime tone my hair. Even only leaving the toner in for 5 mins. I normally use dawn dish soap wash and rinse around 5 times. Always looking for different ways to fix it.

please do not use dawn soap! Do not leave your purple shampoo on for 5 mins. I know it says on the bottle but instead, Put it on for 20-30 secs, and have a mirror in the shower with you. Give it a good scrub and do that for 30 seconds, and then rinse it off. Blonde hair is normal porous and grabs onto toner and purple shampoo quick. It doesnt need to stay on so long. if your hair is dark brown normally and you have a lot of brass, its okay to leave on for MAX 2 mins. if you need a remover, try to clarifying shampoo first.

Shampoo it a lot and then use a light hair dye shade. My colorist once dyed my hair black instead of toning it, and I shampood it out well and then used a dye that makes my hair light ash brown but I am brunette so I need something strong like L'Oreal Excellence 8.1.

Anytime you get a service done that you don’t like. Take the correction if they offer it! You’ve already paid and it’s their knowledge to fix it or to make it the way you want it. Don’t be intimated to go back in! You guys wear your hair and live with it and live with the maintenance ! I would say just go for it and let them fix it❤️

I'm trying to get a dark toner out of my hair, it made it turn black. I dyed my hair dark brown, ended up with hot roots so i bought a dark brown toner from Target and it turn my hair black 😔 i did not use purple shampoo or blue shampoo it was a box that looks like hair dye but it's toner.

so sorry to hear about that ! Yes, the best thing at this point would be to keep the dark hair to minimize more damage. In the next couple months, it'll rinse out and become lighter. From there you can start to fix and even it out :)

yuuup. I even asked her to air on the side of not doing it too much. And then I even asked her when it was on for too long and said I think it needs to come out and she was like no no it’s fine. Now I have darker blonde hair than when I went in to get it lifted a level! #Bitter

I bleached my hair to blonde, I dyed my hair light mushroom brown and it has a tint of green, how can I fix this?

You have to fill it in with a red tone first like a hair filler or like chesnut brown

Yes! I would suggest doing a colour remover to get all the green out. When our hair is missing the main primary colours and are left with just “blonde”/white” and we add any colour on top like an ashy blonde, we are adding blues and purples into our hair. But without the yellows and oranges to counteract this colour, we are left with green! Best thing is get the green out. Add a gold warm toner on top and you should have golden blonde. If your hair is darker than blonde, add in some oranges and reds. That should come out more of a natural brown instead of a green brown. We just have to add in the blues, reds and yellows back into the hair. ❤️

My hair dresser decided to use a different brand toner than I was used to.. big mistake. She made my blonde hair have a red root tap. Like wtf?! I went back next day to get it fixed by her. She used CPR and some kind of shampoo x2 and it didn’t work. She did low developer highlights on top of that bc it stripped some of my bleach that she did the previous day. She offered a refund and I didn’t take it. She gave me a gift set of acid bonding concentrate shampoo + condition for my trouble. I wish I just took the refund. This is the second time I catch her making a mistake. I’ve had enough! She used to be good no issues but two times in a row she made mess ups. Good thing I know how to kind of fix them but for those that don’t they’d be wasting too much money.

So sorry to hear! Red root tap, is "Hot Roots" and what that means is that, the permanent colour she used either didnt develop completely (leaving you in the red/orange range) Or the developer was low (still leaving you in the red range) or she didnt use an ASH permanent colour on your hair to counteract the warmth! Can be fixed by putting an ash permanent colour as a root tap. Should have been fixed that way !
