What are possible failure modes of a bad flash? - PS4 turns off after 1 sec, beeps when eject is pressed - and is unresponsive for a few seconds before it can be repeated - PS4 starts up for xx secs, before turning off - PS4 displays some kind of error message/Please Wait - PS4 ... completely dead I understand there might be differences, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, great to see another excellent video :ø) Edit - Would it be possible for you to share some of your working dumps, as they won't work for any machine besides the one it was dumped on - this would increase chances of fixing bad consoles. If you would check those same areas in different bin files of the same firmware version, you would notice that they are all encrypted in a different way. It is strange the updater would need encrypted code that it can not decipher, rather than a bunch of 00s to not crash! Good fix nonetheless!

Especially if you could suggest the one with SOIC8 SOP8 test clips so that there's no need of removing the BIOS IC from the motherboard. Your reply will be very helpful to me just like any of your videos as we are all stuck in lockdown (COVID) conditions at our home and have no access to technical instruments like SMD, Heat Gun to get the IC/components off the motherboard. By the way I was getting this error from 2 years and my console is just sitting on the table top but watching this video of yours has motivated me a lot and I have made a decision in mind of ordering one of those suitable USB Bios Programmers online and get it fixed with all the relevant information you have provided. What upsets me the most is here in India, Sony refused to give me service for the error code SU-30631-3 saying it's an hardware issue and we don't repair hardware in India. I asked BwE about doing what you just did on this video, which i believe was taking the NOR validator and checking a corrupt NOR dump, then taking a known good NOR dump and using the good code from that to replace the corrupted sections. He says it doesn't work that way.. So am I missing something? Can you not fix corrupted NOR data alone? Must you also patch the Syscon? I'm usually extremely good at well everything like this.. so what am I missing>
