It didn't work for me initially but that was because we had different Update Policies, you just need to return to gpUpdate, back to the folder "Windows Update" then enable and disable whatever policies you have set

Thanks for this! For me, setting "Allow Telemetry" to "Full" and then reverting it back to "Not Configured" is what worked for me. Awesome!!

Finally someone that know what they are doing...Thank you!!!! THIS WORKED PERFECTLY FOR ME after trying so many other fixes and listening to people that have no clue what they are doing by telling you to do things that are not possible and if they were, I would of done them in the first place. So many others gave me the advice on how to set something that the option was not available to do and acted like they were smart because they showed the location of the settings (that were greyed out or missing) and showed how to toggle them on and off...OMG....again thanks!

Just so you know, you might want Telemetry off. That is what Windows uses to take data from your computer. I had this problem afterrunning a Tronscan, which turns off a lot of settings for privacy, and cleans your drive of malware, among other things. Unfortunately, turning off these features leads to a few incompatibility problems. Transcan is great though!

Just wanted to thank you for this solution. Going into the group policy editor and looking under Windows Update, I found 2 things which were enabled that prevented me from getting to the Windows 11 update. Fortunately, I had administrative rights on my computer and was able to toggle the entries back to 'not configured' and everything worked upon reboot.

When I click on Allow Telemetry and the the drop down box it doesn’t have 3- full setting. For me it only has 0 - Security [enterprise only] , 1 - Required, 2 - Enhanced and 3 - Optional. I’ve followed all the steps the way that you did it but it still says “*some settings are managed by your organisation” “View configured update policies”

Group policy editor is only for windows 10 pro version and above, if you are running home you won't be able to use it.

I had been wondering for sometime why I had not been offered the 22H2 update. I realised over Christmas that this was probably the problem so I re-installed Windows 10 using the "Update Assistant". I DID IT!! FIRST OF ALL FOR ME THE STUPID MESSAGE WAS ON THE UPDATE WINDOWS TAB, THEREFORE THIS FIX IS ONLY IF THE MESSAGE DISPLAYS THERE! OK so for me it worked by using the registry editor. You can do that by typing regedit in the RUN box and there you will have to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate , there if you find any key under WindowsUpdate key, delete it. Also check in right-side panel, if you find any DWORD, String, etc, delete it. Restart your pc and when you go to SETTINGS - UPDATE & SECURITY the message MIGHT STILL BE THERE, just press CHECK FOR UPDATES and it will GO AWAY!! Hope anyone will find helpful in the future!

I think I have this problem with the smart screen. There are no policies set, but internet navigation behavior is still under company policy somehow (this is my personal PC, I logged into company account just once to do some work, then unlogged). What policies do I need to reset like that?

Useful clear and concise....thank you! Unfortunately I have this problem. Under "Projecting to this PC" it says "*Some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization" and This device does not support receiving Miracast". I know this is not correct because it was working fine before. Any help would be appreciated. Do you know what gpedit.msc setting would resolve this?

Thanks a lot man! I have windows 10 home and the diagnostic data option was also greyed out for me with the same organisation management error message; had to fiddle around with some commands in cmd by following another video. And finally my sign-in options page works, couldn't use windows hello for about 2 months and that was really frustrating. I still have the message on top "Some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization" but I can still configure and use windows hello to sign which was my original issue.

Didnt work for me. I have windows 10 pro, did the first part and success. But went to check Diagnostics and Feedback in Privacy, and saw a note in yellow that the settings are managed by your organization. Also cant change from basic to optional under diagnostic data. Help?

run as administrator then In local group policy editor windows update folder open "configure automatic updates" template and select enable and apply then ok. Go back in and select not configured and apply and ok, finally go back in and ensure its on not configured and click ok again. Check updates - the chances are its should go away.
