There's no File I/O tab.

I tried this on vegas 14 and there was no file IO. Then tried on Vegas 21, it was there, but completely different layout. Still didn't work btw

fixed my issue, never tinker with settings and worked just fine before suddenly preview is lagging, real annoying thanks for this simple fix

For some reason, my preview runs smoothly when playing fast and complex cuts, but starts lagging on one simple cut. Not only does enabling GPU acceleration not fix the lagging issue, but also increases the risk of freezing and crashing the program entirely. This has always been an issue for me. What a shame.

My gpu doesn't show up in the hardware decoder to use option, but for the video section of preferences it shows up

@@zxavius I just switched to Adobe Premiere Pro. No lag there and same functions.

I ve been investigating. In preferences menu > preview decive, i got "default windows CPU" or whatever is called (Im spanish so in english maybe have another name) as only choice, My current GPU is missing and unavailable as an option. This looks to be the problem, windows CPU is thrash and u cannot choose yours. Idk why, maybe because my CPU is AMD.

thanks! i'm unable to turn on the GPU acceleration due to the distortion in colour palette of the final video it caused(video render in blue shade), but i did everything else, and it seems that it helped for a bit anyway.

I've been struggling with this for a while, assumed it was just a thing Vegas did - upped my Dynamic RAM Preview Max" considerably (200mb default ... really?) and runs smooth as butter now.

bruh i have a RTX 3090, all of that is set, i have 128GB of ram and ihave allocated the max I can to vegas, and it still lags like crazy even on Draft - Quarter preview
