I love getting boxes like this in the mail, especially on my day off. All I wanted to do was edit a couple videos and post them but today I'll be dealing with a different type of post.

The living flip is in desperate need of a new mailbox. The old post is rotted, and the mailbox itself is covered in rust and does not stay closed. Did I mention it is not nice to look at.

We nabbed the solar light at @HomeDepot along with a premade post.
Yes, you heard me right, PREMADE!!! After pricing out the lumber Lauren determined that we would actually save $20 by buying the premade version. Neither of us were fans of the Gothic style topper. But that thing flew right off with a hack from the miter saw.
Next, Lauren stained the post a rich brown color @MinwaxUSA Provincial
Our 75 year old neighbor came out to help us dig the hole. This guy is a national treasure. We absolutely love him. We made the whole 24 inches deep and 10 inches wide.
Instead of buying two bags of Quikrete, Lauren wanted to try something new. this foam fills the hole and expands similar to the cans of Great Stuff gap filler that they sell at Home Depot.  this bag fills a hole equivalent to 100 pounds of concrete, also 36 inches deep by 8 inches wide.
The application was easy
Once your hole is dug out, and your post is in place, cracked the seal in the middle of the bag and agitate for 15 seconds. Then, quickly cut the corner off and pour the liquid into the hole. You will see the product start expanding almost instantly. It's good to have a second or third set of hands at this point because you have about two minutes before the post is set. If the product expands outside of your hole, all you have to do is remove the excess with a saw, razor, or just break off what you have to.
