Brotha, have been literally waiting to see you post a video like this so I can do my trim service, I already spent good money on quality trim and steering ram tools so I can do these services, you'll never know how much I appreciate these videos, I'd love to stop in and see ya one day on my way to Cudjoe and show off my Evinrude FICHT 2 smokes, you may be working on a Yamaha but the concepts are all the same, thank you so much.

Doing this right now on my 90 Etec. I bought the same tool from Marine tech. These older Evinrude are getting more and more expensive. Mine is a 2005 with probably 2000 hours. Runs like a top though. The seals only seem to last 4 years on the rebuild. This is my second time doing it. Evinrude says use the biodegradable fluid. But I have read the atf is a better option. Great and timely video.

Gday mate another fantastic how to video you make it look easy i watched another video sfrom another you tuber and what he did to make sure he didn't slip when using the cap spanner was lower the leg onto a piece of poly tube on to of the spanner itself to stop it flicking out as you tried to undo the caps as you well know some can be a pain in the butt to get loose , ut you have provided many people with the knowledge to "have a go" at diy trim seals take care .

I need to do my trim seals toon. On the topic of one of your other videos, I had great success with flushing the engine using Rydlyme and a bilge pump, recirculating it. The crud that came out of my motor was crazy. It runs so nicely now with cleaned thermostats, new impeller and a thorough cleaning.

Great Video, But one Question, shouldn't the rams be retracted when you fill up with fluid, I don't know much about this Type of trim system, but on my IO cylinders, they have to be retracted to fill the Revivor or it will over fill, found that out the hard way and made a mess.

Can’t get all the air out of my trim despite going up and down many times. I can’t get the motor all the way to the stand because my hydraulic steering lines are hitting the transom. It’s an old bass boat. Is not getting the tilt ram all the way up why I can’t get all the air out? I could remove the hydraulic steering and get the motor all the way to the stand.
