This tutorial illustrates three different methods to resolve high memory usage in Windows 10.
This issue arises mostly after Windows 10 update to many users.Here you can find complete solution to fix all Windows 10 issues during update and after update.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 operating systems.Works for all major computer manufactures (Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Samsung).

@Open World There is one mistake in your video, at the end in the method 3, you have to click "enabled" not "disabled". If u want to turn off it, u have to click on enabled, then it works (at least in my case) Just look at the title of the window "Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus" - this "task" must be enabled to be turned off.

tried last 2 methods and one of them worked. don't know which one. You have to end the task manually after applying the fix and it won't start up again. Thanks :)

ive been having the same problem with this and nothing helped so iw as like hm maybe i need to do something else and the i saw something in a program called smart game booster with windows defender but i think it only works with the pro version but there are videos where thez show key so. just go to configure and then and go on windows procees and just select all .Hope this helps out some other people

Maybe your Windows 10 version is 20H2 or 2004 most of the security features are improved in newer version of Windows 10 and if u try this method on Windows 10 1909 or later this will work properly

You disabled "Turn Off Windows Defender Antivirus" which means it will still run. Don't you want to enable that?

Tyler Lewis I tired all the top ranked KZfaq videos on fixing this, filtered by “view counts”. I recommend you do the same. Some of them worked but I am not sure which ones (lol), I’ve done things from Windows Defender exclusion, registry, task scheduler, policies manager (?) or something like that, etc.

If you disable this policy setting, Windows Defender Antivirus will run regardless of any other installed antivirus product.... If you enable this policy setting, Windows Defender Antivirus does not run, and will not scan computers for malware or other potentially unwanted software. You want to enable to "Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus"...

End task it by task manager and it won't start up again, or download process hacker and run it as administrator and end task it with process hacker.

omg can somone help me !! i cannot find results, i have a virus with exactly the same name ! Its NOT "mspeng.exe" it automaticly start itself again when i kill the task... Its a hidden file with the name Antimalware service Executable.exe its a hidden file in the windows folder and it is using 100 % of my GPU when it starts itself again....

I know I'm late but I have a solution usually when this is running really high that means you have a virus and in that case Windows Defender won't detect it if it's some sort of trojan virus so what I'll do is factory reset your computer and get rid of all your files
