just built my wheel set following this steps, thank you. now i just need to build a truing stand like yours because the prices on those are too ridiculous for maybe a 1 or 2 time use. wish you had a tutorial in how to make yours.

The Truing Stand was built in a hurry so I didn't think to document it, but it's a good idea. Ill make another one in the near future👌

hi bro I'm new to fixed gear and bikes shop here in my location are too far if you don't mind me asking what size of spokes do i need for 50mm rims and high flange and the lacing is 3cross too I've been asking pple online and I can't get any answer

Hey man, wheels and spokes are very specific and individual, as each hub and rim type has it's own dimensions. My advice would be to Google the parts you have, then go onto any store website and write down the factory specs: Rim ERD RIM Spoke offset(only when present) Flange hole diameter Flange to center(if the hub is offset, eg by disc brakes) Spoke hole diameter - some you can measure yourself, but things like rime ERD is a factory norm Once you have these

Then you have to put these measurements into the spoke calculator and it will give you the exact measurements you need

Why do you have to lace the outer spoke underneath the inner spoke??? Will that not cause rubbing???

This is called a 3 cross lacing pattern. It is how most bicycle wheels are built as it keeps the wheel true for a very long time. The areas where the spokes cross one another act as support points, helping the spoke resist flex. The only downside to 3 cross lacing is that the spokes are longer, making the wheel slightly heavier than a radial laced wheel for example.

@@drakendraken-hb3ke the building principles are the same though, regardless of the hole count. As long as you follow the steps the end result should be good
