Hi! Do you need to install a mySQL community server to use mySQL workbench? And if so, how did you get the server to work with Big Sur? I've been having so much trouble.

no you don't really need to install the community to use the workbench.

I've done all the steps and when I want to open the other version it put me that the following disk couldn't be opened :( help me

try uninstalling everything again and follow the steps from the beginning. then when you install go to your system preferences, go to privacy and the click on the lock logo at the bottom left to open it up and then go to general. in general go to the part that says 'App Store'. youll see a message that asks you to open anyway. click on "OPEN ANYWAY". then lock your privacy again, close the tab and then try again. it should work then. that's what I did for mine and its working now!! hope this helps.
