This is not a tough job but requires a bit of patience to take it apart and put it back together.

Great teaching. Consider putting the screws into a small bowl as you remove them. I often take pictures before and during when I take something apart. Helps in putting it back together.

I followed this to the letter, went to all that effort, disassembled, reassembled (mine was a tad more involved than this one though) got it all back together & it worked great... for about a fortnight! Only now on the rewatch did I realise you didn't show where to apply the oil? And THAT is the only thing I didn't do. 🤦‍♂️ Help me please... lol!

Apply oil to the fan motor spindle, a drop to each end

@@bootsowen There should be a felt material surrounding the bushings that needs to be saturated with light oil (3 in 1 will work). The bushings are made of sintered metal that allow oil to slowly seep through. Doing this every 2 years or so will keep the fan running for a very long time or until the switch breaks. You may need to lightly tap the shaft in several radial directions after reassembly to realign the bushings to the shaft if it doesn't spin freely, especially the front bushing which usually gets out of alignment during disassembly and reassembly. The bushings are convex on their outside diameter to allow for this.

Thermal fuse is probably a blown if fan won't power up and spin fan blades. Axial fuse 122TF 115C degree cutoff of AC house power. Fans used to start fires. The Thermal fuse prevents fire.

So...i watched this video AFTER i took mine apart because it is fairly easy. After you remove the cover on the back, theres the little white box (the capacitor screws on to it) that houses the oscillating pull knob. When i went to put mine back together, everything seemed like it was okay, technically the fan does blow better lol. BUT, the knob doesnt stay in place when i pull up on it. Any ideas?
